The successful candidate has a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting projects across the organization by gathering and analyzing requirements, identifying process improvements, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing data-driven insights.Reporting to the PMO Manager, the Senior Business Analyst shall provide expertise in the areas of business process mapping, requirements gathering, analysis and design, configuration, implementation, testing, facilitation, and documentation to deliver enterprise solutions. As well, this role will be assigned to tasks that are varied and may also lead and/or perform project management duties as assigned by the PMO Manager.Key Responsibilities • Documents and analyzes processes, gathers business and functional requirements, recommends business analysis best practices, gathers data to support, prioritizes and aligns business case development and requests, and performs current state assessments and gap analysis on initiatives. • Creates process maps, data maps, data models, and data flow diagrams, and works with data architects.• Leads project discovery activities, analysis of business processes, and requirements documentation for the design of new solutions.• Liaises with a broad spectrum of clinical, IT and business staff and leaders to assist in translating technical issues into a single, shared objective.• Plans, organizes, manages, monitors, and is responsible for the business analysis activities of projects.• Understands the business context, project justification, business goals and priorities and updates and maintains documentation on such.• Understands and applies business architecture concepts to ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals, outcomes, and business value.• Documents current state business processes, captures issues and opportunities, and understands the proposed future state, identifying gaps to achieve that state.• Develops business requirements documents, solutions requirements documents, and functional requirements.• Prioritizes requirements based on business needs.• Partners with and supports architects in the creation of current and future state architecture.• Prepares RFPs, including functional and non-functional requirements.• Participates in developing RFP scoring mechanisms and facilitating and managing the scoring processes.• Evaluates current business processes, identifies opportunities, and provides recommendations for changes to business processes using established methodologies.• Utilize business analysis tools and artifacts such as Visio, Lucidchart, Confluence and Business Process Documentation to facilitate requirement alignment sessions.• Contributes to creating a positive, collaborative team environment within the College.Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge • Bachelor's degree in business administration, clinical informatics or a related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation• Experience developing business cases, process maps and designs, documenting requirements, and performing data analyses for medium to large initiatives• Experience with preparing procurement documents including but not limited to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and managing procurement documents for evaluation, selection, and procurement of products and/or services from vendors• Experience working with both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies• Demonstrated experience translating strategy into development roadmaps• Demonstrated experience making trade-offs between business needs and technology constraints while keeping business value top of mind• Confidence in writing and developing end-to-end, functional and UAT test scripts• Effective change management, facilitation and problem solving skills• Effective written and verbal communications skills• Strong digital acumen, including demonstrated knowledge of adopting/using appropriate technologies• Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional (Intermediate to Advanced level)• Proficient in Microsoft Visio and/or Microsoft Project are assets• Proficient with implementing business analysis practices, with focus on business analysis planning and monitoring, requirements management and communication, and enterprise and data analysis • Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, and effectively communicate insights• Ability to be productive by using work time constructively and complete tasks within the pre-determined timelines• Ability to manage own emotions, build and maintain effective working relationships• Ability to maintain tact when dealing with diverse groups of people with different personalities• Ability to exercise good judgment in protecting confidential information• Ability to use a common sense approach and demonstrate sound judgement• Ability to organize work duties, set priorities and deliver results under pressure• Strong detail orientation and drive for accuracy• Commitment to continual learning and exploring innovative solutionsWhat We Offer The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on a 35-hour work week. The starting salary will be determined based on factors such as the successful candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience; salaries of other employees in the same salary range; market conditions and other relevant factors.The College provides a competitive compensation; an attractive paid-time off package that gives annual vacation, personal days, and additional days off during the year-end office closure; and extended benefits that include a defined benefit plan with the Municipal Pension Plan.
