Your new role As a Franchise Law Clerk / Legal Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting legal and administrative processes related to leasing and franchising across North America. As the Controls Design Manager, your day-to-day will be: Lead, mentor, and support a team of controls designers for electrical layout and schematics according to NFPA79, NEC, CSA, IEC/EN, and UL508A electrical standards Plan and allocate resources to ensure successful project execution Contribute to all stages of controls design — from concept through commissioning Interpret technical requirements and align them with project specifications Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to define scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets Ensure designs meet quality, compliance, and safety standards Partner with manufacturing and fabrication teams to validate design integrity Identify opportunities to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement Provide technical support during installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities Collaborate with the sales team by preparing technical input and cost estimates This position includes occasional international travel in support of project delivery. You will have: Degree in Electrical Engineering, with 10+ years' experience in designing industrial control panels, low-voltage power distribution, and automation systems. A P.Eng. designation is an asset. Proven experience in panel design for process equipment (Machinery) Familiarity with electrical standards such as NFPA79, NEC, CSA, IEC/EN, and UL508A Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
