  • Job Description What is the opportunity? The Senior Manager, Data Security Governance is a critical first line of defense role responsible for operationalizing data security requirements and ensuring that key controls are designed, implemented, and executed effectively across the enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Data Security Governance, this role focuses on hands‑on governance, coordination, and oversight of data security control activities, including defining control objectives, documenting key controls, and tracking control performance through Key Control Indicators (KCIs). The Senior Manager partners closely with business units, technology teams, and second‑line functions to ensure that data security practices are embedded in day‑to‑day operations and aligned with enterprise policies, standards, and regulatory obligations. What will you do? Collaborate with the Director to define and document control objectives for each data security domain (e.g., access management, data transfer, DLP, cloud governance). Support the development of guidelines, job aids, and execution playbooks to help first line teams implement controls effectively. Act as a subject matter expert to coach business and technology teams on data security control execution. Define Key Control Indicators (KCIs) to measure the effectiveness and performance of key controls. Develop dashboards and reporting to track control health, identify trends, and highlight areas requiring attention. Serve as a liaison between first line operational teams and second line risk and compliance functions. Prepare documentation and evidence for internal audits and regulatory examinations. Track and manage the remediation of audit and regulatory findings related to first line data security controls. What do you need to succeed? Must-have Experience in cybersecurity, data protection, or information risk management roles. Experience working directly with governance, controls, or operational risk programs.
