WHAT YOU WILL DO New business development includes the following: Quickly create a level of trust in internal and external interchange, which include company values and behaviors with all advisors, clients and prospects while keeping promises in delivering strong results. Responsible for developing and managing relationships with strategic advisors. This includes identifying potential partners, evaluating their suitability, and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships that align with Alberta Blue Cross objectives. Enable advisors to effectively sell and support Alberta Blue Cross’s services. Provide training, sales tools, and resources to effectively promote and sell. This includes conducting training sessions and providing ongoing support and guidance. Actively explore opportunities for expanding existing partnerships and acquiring new advisors. This includes conducting market research, attending industry events, and proactively seeking out partnership opportunities. Review specifications from benefit advisors ensuring the information is complete, comprehensive and meets underwriting and administration requirements. Communicate what can be done for the client/prospect/advisor and why they should work with Alberta Blue Cross. Assist with the follow‑up of corporate account quotes and proposals and determine competitiveness in the group insurance market. Assist in the enrolment and installation of new business. Present renewals to the assigned book of business, ensuring that the cost of doing business is viable. Lead sales, administrative and educational presentations to benefit advisors and plan sponsors. Assist management in advertising and marketing campaigns. Internal resource: Work with all group business units on issues relating to administration of the corporate account book of business. Achieve and maintain a thorough knowledge of the suite of products and services. Servicing: Work with the assigned client care specialist to ensure an effective, high level of scheduled service to all corporate accounts. Develop and maintain a corporate account sales tracking and prospect file. Develop and strengthen relationships with assigned benefits advisors. WHAT YOU WILL HAVE Life, Accident, and Sickness licensing is required. Preference will be given to candidates that possess a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or higher designation, such as CEBS. Must be a continuous learner with a desire to get better by enrolling in continuing educational courses, i.e. CEBS, industry related conferences, seminars as required. Focused and self‑motivated on all targets and goals. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to liaise with benefit advisors, underwriters, and the sales and service team demonstrating sensitivity to team, department and individual needs. Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills to monitor and analyze performance metrics and make data‑driven decisions. Demonstrate professionalism and excellence in sales ability and presentation skills. Very strong benefit background and knowledge, including underwriting, industry trends and marketplace drivers.   • OVERVIEW Working in a flexible work style arrangement, reporting to the Manager of Group Sales Operations & Customer Success, the position focuses on strengthening client and advisor relationships across the Group Sales business. This role focuses on supporting new business acquisition, upselling, cross‑selling, renewals, and retaining group clients for an existing book of health benefit plans of small to midsized employer groups in the Edmonton or Calgary and surrounding area. The Customer Success Manager also supports the renewal process and actively participates in advisor and client meetings to enhance engagement. WHAT YOU WILL DO Manage small to midsized group accounts, focusing on modernizing existing plans and updating contractual provisions. Collaborate with Account Executives to assess client needs, generate and present add‑on sales proposals, plan revisions, and solutions. Support renewal processes, including preparing proposals, negotiating discounts within established guidelines, and ensuring smooth client experiences. Actively contribute to team revenue expansion and retention goals through upselling and cross‑selling strategies. Analyze client data to identify sales and retention opportunities, providing proactive recommendations based on claims data and client feedback. Engage with advisors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve escalated client concerns and improve customer satisfaction. Recommend process enhancements and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and enhance the overall client experience. WHAT YOU WILL HAVE Post‑secondary education such as diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of equivalent experience in sales, customer relationship management, insurance, financial services, or related field.     OVERVIEW
    The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department has an opening for a dynamic Senior Financial Analyst with exceptional business partnering acumen to collaborate with leaders across Alberta Blue Cross.
    In alignment with Alberta Blue Cross®’s objective to maintain a health work‑life balance, we are pleased to offer a hybrid work‑arrangement. There is a requirement to come into the Edmonton office periodically. The Senior Financial Analyst will report directly to the Team Manager in the FP&A area. In addition to strong analytical and accounting know‑how, the Senior Financial Analyst will possess excellent communication skills and well‑rounded business acumen.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Establish consultative relationships with divisional leaders including Senior Vice Presidents (SVP) in developing driver‑based budgets, forecasts and assessing variances as their financial business partner.
    Lead the development and delivery of periodic financial information and analysis to division management through visualization and dashboards. Includes identification and investigation of financial variances using structured and unstructured data.
    Work closely and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to enhance evidence‑based decisions ensuring alignment of views on departmental performance, product development, customer profitability, and operating initiatives.
    Lead the preparation of draft presentation materials and speaking notes for the Director’s presentations to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for topics such as: Monthly/quarterly financial results, forecasts, and annual budget.
    Lead engagement with areas to understand their business, interpret financial results, costing output, drivers and assumptions, and deliver reporting on a regular basis.
    Partner with cross‑functional teams to consolidate and integrate financial and non‑financial information into meaningful, actionable insights about business performance and potential optimization opportunities.
    Assess and advise on the effectiveness of strategies, applying leading practices to define processes and procedures while identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvements.
    Align key performance indicators with organizational goals and utilize tools and reports to effectively monitor and communicate them.
    Prepare periodic external reporting and audit compliance through preparation of reports and analysis including but not limited to annual audit, reinsurance renewal, Statistics Canada submissions.
    Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
    Take a proactive approach in departmental and organizational projects and initiatives.
    Provide basic guidance to junior team members, fostering skill development and collaboration within the FP&A team.
    Provide responsive support for ad hoc requests from Division Management, including research, data analysis, report preparation, and coordination of information across teams. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high‑quality work under tight timelines.


    WHAT YOU WILL HAVE

    Professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred. A related undergraduate degree coupled with several years of related experience will be considered.
    6+ years’ progressively responsible experience in financial planning and analysis in a similar size organization.
    Self‑motivated and able to work independently, with the ability to deliver high‑quality results under pressure and demanding deadlines.
    Critical thinking skills in pursuit of continuous improvement and value‑add.
    Demonstrated experience in developing and analyzing driver‑based models.
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to break down complex financial concepts and communicate without prejudice, while forming collaborative partnerships that engage various levels within the organization, including executive and non‑financial managers.
    Experience developing, designing, analyzing and continuously improving reports.
    Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
    Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables, anticipate obstacles and meet deadlines.
    Initiative in taking ownership and responsibility.
    Proficiency in data analysis through Microsoft Excel and experience with corporate performance management or enterprise systems. Experience with Workday Adaptive, Power BI and other data analysis tools are preferred.
