    About the Role As the Workers' Compensation Case Manager, you will assist employees with workplace injuries. Your responsibilities will include assessing barriers to returning to work. You will engage relevant parties and implement return-to-work plans or alternative solutions. The role involves working closely with injured employees and coordinating efforts to facilitate their return to work.
    Responsibilities Responsibilities include assessing claim files, interpreting laws, coordinating case management tasks and facilitating 3rd party interventions. Additionally, you'll maintain regular communication with clients and Worker's Compensation Boards. This role requires drafting objection letters.
    Requirements Possess a paralegal license and CHRP designation, with experience in workers' compensation claims management. Qualifications include familiarity with relevant statutes, policies, workplace health and safety, and proficiency in Microsoft suite. Additionally, education in related fields such as human resources, health and safety, or insurance certificate-designation is desirable.

    Reporting to the Manager, Worker’s Compensation, you are responsible for assisting employees on behalf of the employer when the employee is off work, or at risk of being off work, due to a workplace injury. The case manager assesses any barriers to a successful and timely return to work and engages with stakeholders to implement strategies to address those identified barriers and support return to work or an appropriate alternative plan. Essential Functions Meeting with clients to review internal workplace injury issues Managing workplace injury claims, minimizing time-loss and claim costs through early intervention and proactive coordination of services Ensuring regular and open lines of communication with clients, injured workers, and the provincial Worker’s Compensation Boards Liaising with the provincial Workers’ Compensation Boards Reviewing claim files Interpreting provincial workers’ compensation legislation, policies, and procedures Filing reports of injury, identifying appeal issues, drafting letters of objection Coordinating case management activities including developing, implementing, and monitoring return to work and rehabilitation strategies Facilitating 3rd party interventions (functional capacity evaluations, independent medical evaluations) Qualifications Paralegal license or CHRP designation is a requirement. Salary Pay Range Minimum: 40,300 CAD Maximum: 64,000 CAD Pay Transparency Statement: Alight considers a variety of factors in determining whether to extend an offer of employment and in setting the appropriate compensation level, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography.
