Allnorth's Calgary Team is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer.As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for conceptual design, front-end and detailed engineering of small to medium sized projects for oil and gas process plants and other industrial facilities.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Experience implementing engineering designs in operating facility environmentsDetailed knowledge and experience in multiple mechanical engineering sub-disciplines including piping design and modifications, pumps, fans, blowers, vessels and tanks, HVAC, Stress analysis and interpretationSignificant experience implementing solutions closely tied to the final product – the site, contactor, operations and maintenance. Demonstrated ability or interest to lead and mentor a small team of junior engineers;HAZOP/Operability studies experience;Ability to lead the engineering efforts and manage budget and schedule for small to medium size process projectsAbility to develop and foster strong relationship with clients to ensure their expectations are understood and delivered upon;Experience in developing proposals for new projects including the engineering scope, schedule, cost Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-discipline environmentExperience with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping codes, API 650, ASME Section VIII Div 1, NFPA codes, CSA Z662 and CSA B149 is desiredExperience with the design registration of power piping systems and pressure vessel design modifications with the safety authority is an assetEngineering and design experience with a multi-discipline 3D modelExperience with developing procurement datasheets, specifications and engineering/construction work packages;Design experience with engineering software packages such as PipeFlo, AutoPipe, Caesar, Compress, Tank, AFT Arrow, AFT Impulse and SolidWorks FEA

A Day in the Life
Manage a variety of industrial projects such as pumps and piping, structural steel and concrete analysis and design, tank and bin design, infrastructure, electrical and instrumentation design, etcProvide project direction to a team of multidisciplined engineers and designersSupport the development and issuance of proposal to clientsBuild business relationships with current and potential clientsInterface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectationsEnsure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standardsWork with team members from various offices to execute projects efficientlyCreate a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factorsProactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they ariseManage projects in alignment with the organization’s PMO project management best practices.Utilize the organization’s ERP system for resource planning and cost management.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, other disciplines may be considered based upon experienceMust be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P.
