  • Material Planner  

    - London

    Job Title: Material Planner Industry: Military Defense/Manufacturing Location : London, ON Hours: Full-time Compensation: $25-$31/hour; depending upon experience Length: 12-month contract with potential for hire
    Duties may include: Provide a build schedule based on the London Master Schedule to the associate plants, customers, and vendors. Work with Scheduling, Department Supervisors, and PLP to prioritize internal departmental workload and requirements. Prioritize as necessary for divisional plant location urgent requirements. Analyze and coordinate offload/onload/parallel sourced material review with SCM and Production to ensure requirements are met. Material plan internal Production dept or Process defined by business need(s). Coordinate premium transportation if necessary. Coordinate Outbound transportation to Customer sites. Assist with inventory management and movements to and from divisional support facilities. Provide upfront status of critical shortages to internal customers, assisting in the resolution and creating workaround plans. Report out on all material shortages and statuses daily. Ensure the customer has updated information to make informed decisions. Work as a team player within PMC as part of cross-functional teams maintaining multiple customer requirements. Maintain communication with buy & make planners, Production, SCM, and PMC. Incorporate new techniques/tools into the daily process. Create and maintain desktop procedures. Prepare shipping documentation as required.
    Qualifications: University degree or College diploma, preferably in Materials Operations Management or Business. Minimum 1-2 years previous make planning experience. MRP experience. Must be able to meet Anthropometrical size restrictions for confined space. Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word. Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and take initiative as required. Demonstrated high level of communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with Oracle . APICS certification or working towards it. Familiar with transportation and shipping practices.
    Registration with the Controlled Goods Program is mandatory Must be either a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. Must have worked in Canada for the last 5+ years. Must have not left Canada for more than 6 months in the last 5 years. Must be willing to pass a clean criminal background check. Must have at least 1 work reference and 2 personal references.
    Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday
