Your role: Working closely with all Tax Partners and other Senior staff on business tax compliance, tax provision and tax advisory engagements and to develop and implement tax planning for clients Build and manage client relationships at a senior level; advise clients by delivering high quality tax service and advice Reviewing and approving technical research, tax planning recommendations for public and private companies. Reviewing complex Canadian corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff.     Your role
    Assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3 and T5013 returns) and tax election forms. Providing assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments. Participate in special engagements. Research tax issues and prepare memoranda. Liaising with tax authorities on audits and requests for information. Preparing and presenting technical sessions for staff.

    What you bring to the table
    Previous experience in a public accounting firm. A professional designation. A commitment to learning in a tax environment. Research, analytical and problem identification skills Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions. Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep. Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines. Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Your role:
    Providing bookkeeping assistance to clients, internally and externally, in various formats including QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Sage 50, and CaseWare Processing transactions in integrated cloud-based systems Applying critical thinking abilities to assess transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment Processing payroll for clients and associated remittances Preparing and filing sales tax returns Performing account reconciliations Completing and submitting ROEs Preparation of client reports as required Preparation of T4s, T4As and T5018s Producing accurate and timely financial reporting Helping onboard new clients and assistingin developing accounting workflows and process documentation Ongoing training and support for clients in all areas of bookkeeping Developing and maintaining strong client relationships Mentoring team members to maximize their potential and build personal and team growth

    What you bring to the table:
    Graduation from a postsecondary institution – bookkeeping diploma would be an asset Minimum of five years of accounting experience is a must, preferably in public practice or for multiple clients with strong bookkeeping skills Critical thinking and trouble shooting skills are essential Advanced experience with cloud-based accounting software Intermediate Excel skills a must and advanced would be an asset Ability to change priorities quickly and easily, meet recurring deadlines and take ownership of assigned client work Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team Strong client and interpersonal skills - our clients mean the world to us Approachable, supportive team player with a strong sense of urgency and a demonstrated history of achieving common goals

We are looking for someone who can think strategically and execute day‑to‑day HR operations, while supporting business needs. You will partner with business leaders to implement People & Culture strategies that drive Human Resources management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and employee engagement. The HRBP acts as a trusted and confidential advisor, embedding HR strategy into daily operations, and ensuring all HR practices are compliant and align with organizational goals and culture. People Strategy & HR Programs Translate strategy into action by implementing HR programs that support talent acquisition, development, performance management, engagement, and compensation initiatives. Build strong relationships as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering guidance that reflects business priorities and company culture. Partner with leadership to develop and implement workforce planning, retention strategies, and succession planning. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manage full‑cycle recruitment efforts, collaborating with part‑time HR Coordinator to create job descriptions, interview guides, and selection processes tailored to business needs. Develop a robust talent pipeline, strategically sourcing candidates to meet current and future organizational requirements. Create onboarding programs that enhance engagement, retention, and long‑term success. Performance, Development & Engagement Support managers through performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and coaching plans. Drive performance improvement initiatives, career pathing, and high‑potential talent development programs. Design and manage training and development programs to foster a culture of continuous learning. Lead engagement surveys, analyze results, and facilitate action plans to improve employee experience and retention. HR Operations & Compliance Stay current on employment law and HR best practices across Alberta and British Columbia. Manage Baker Tilly’s HR Information System (Bamboo HR), optimizing system functionality, ensuring data integrity, and generating reporting insights. Partner with managers on employee relations, accommodation requests, return‑to‑work programs, and offboarding processes to minimize disruption and maintain compliance. Culture & Workplace Experience Create and improve policies, processes and programs that support business growth, consistency, and alignment with best practices. Foster a high‑performance, inclusive, and collaborative environment through visible leadership and open communication. Promote transparency, trust, innovation, and continuous improvement across all teams. What you bring to the table Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple disciplines (recruitment, employee relations, compensation, policy development, talent management, etc.). Education: Completed (or in progress) bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or CPHR designation would be strongly preferred. Compliance: Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance and best practices. Technical Skills: Prior HR experience within a financial firm would be a significant asset, as would Bamboo HR HRIS experience. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders, build relationships, and act as a strategic business partner. Communication: Excellent communication, problem‑solving and emotional intelligence skills. Additional Key Skills: Manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, work independently, and deliver high‑quality results with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
