Greenfire seeks a detail-oriented Environmental Coordinator to support oil sands operations.This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and ensuring operations meet or exceed environmental standards.Key Responsibilities:Environmental Monitoring and Reporting:Coordinate field programs and oversee the timely submission of EPEA reports and other required federal and provincial reports.Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental data related to water, soil, and biodiversity, including contractor management.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards, preparing environmental reports as required by regulators.Maintain and update environmental monitoring systems, tracking performance against targets.Regulatory Compliance:Advise personnel on environmental issues related to project phases.Conduct internal environmental audits and assessments to ensure compliance with permits and standards.Foster environmental responsibility across the workforce by ensuring awareness of key environmental issues.Reclamation and Remediation:Coordinate reclamation programs including site assessments, remediation, and soil/groundwater monitoring.Manage consultants and contractors to deliver closure programs.Environmental Assessments:Prepare and review environmental assessments for new projects and expansions.Evaluate existing operations and recommend mitigation strategies.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.Certifications in environmental management are considered an asset.3+ years of relevant experience in oil and gas, natural resources, or related sectors.Experience with regulatory compliance and environmental reporting in Alberta is highly desirable.Competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience.We offer a supportive work environment that prioritizes environmental responsibility.
