  • OverviewThe Director, Reinsurance & In‑Force Management, Institutional Solutions leads the strategy, execution, and management of reinsurance across global Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and asset‑intensive institutional markets. Reporting to the Global Head of Pricing, Institutional Solutions, the director reinforces a strong risk culture, executes complex transactions in partnership with external reinsurers, and elevates tools, models, and processes required to analyze and manage in‑force business. Key Responsibilities Reinsurance Strategy and Oversight Lead strategic roadmap for reinsurance supporting Canadian PRT and global asset‑intensive funded reinsurance. Direct advanced modelling and analytics pipelines using data from PRT systems and institutional RFQs to refine assumptions. Governance and Compliance Ensure all institutional reinsurance transactions comply with retention limits, counterparty requirements, and other internal governance or regulatory requirements. Maintain tight oversight of treaty compliance, collateral mechanics, reporting requirements, and post‑issue monitoring. Uphold a strong risk culture, promoting transparency and disciplined decision‑making across technical teams. Position Requirements Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent, with 7 years of experience in PRT, reinsurance, or asset-intensive insurance products. Deep technical knowledge of PRT/longevity dynamics, liability modelling, Canadian and global capital standards. Strong actuarial modelling and technical skills, including experience in platforms such as AXIS, Prophet, Python/R/SQL, or similar. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven ability to lead and develop actuarial teams, with strong mentoring and coaching skills. Qualifications Post secondary education or equivalent work experience 10+ years Financial Services experience preferably in a credit related area Credit risk and analytical skills to assess risk in strategy development Understanding of modelling, advanced analytics, and data analytics Experience in stress testing Strong quantitative/analytical skills Advanced knowledge of Credit Policies and processes Thorough knowledge of the Bank Lending Process training tools and qualification process Strong understanding of linkage between Credit risk strategies and Bank’s financial management In-depth knowledge of Risk Management theory, processes, and portfolio management reporting techniques Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian regulations relating to retail credit Ability to influence others in terms of credit strategy and direction. Ability to network and establish industry relationships. Salary and Benefits Base salary range: CDN $170,000.00 to CDN $185,000.00. Pay type: Salaried.
