The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs center, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.
The Contracts Administrator will support Subcontracts Administration by managing subcontractor relationships and overseeing awarded subcontracts within established cost parameters, helping ensure that financial and operational commitments are consistently met or exceeded.
Job Description
Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies, and draft contractual correspondence as needed.Prepare prime contractor payment requests and review/process subcontractors’ payment applications for the preparation of certificates of payment.Prepare regular reports on project progress, financial status, and contract performance for internal and external stakeholders.Participate in and prepare for internal stakeholder meetings and client/subcontractor meetings as required.Maintain organized and accurate records of all commercial activities, including contract documents, change orders, and correspondence.Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with the project.Perform clerical duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and document management.Support the formulation and negotiation of change requests and claims, including documentation of details, additional costs, and time impacts.Assist with insurance claims administration.Undertake assigned commercial tasks under the guidance of the Senior Contracts Manager.Ensure compliance with current health and safety regulations.Support the Senior Contracts Manager with daily commercial and contractual activities, including liaising with external legal counsel as required.
Experience/ Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, Law, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent proven experience will also be considered.Civil construction experience is strongly desirable.Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a similar Contracts Administration role.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems.Excellent command of written and spoken English.Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.Experience working with major international contractors, particularly in joint-venture environments, is preferred.Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.Ability to self-manage, remain solutions-focused, stay organized, and adapt to changing demands.Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MCIOB, or MCIArb are desirable.
