We are seeking a Senior Associate, Investments to join our Equity Capital team. Reporting to the Director, Equity Finance, this individual will be responsible for contributing across the full investment lifecycle, including financial underwriting, due diligence, investment committee preparation, and portfolio monitoring. Key Responsibilities
This team focuses on forming strategic partnerships with experienced developers while providing investors access to premier real estate development opportunities across Canada.
Investment Analysis & Financial Modeling
Lead the preparation of financial pro-formas and investment analyses for both residential and commercial real estate developments and income-producing assets.
Prepare financing packages and supporting financial materials for prospective investments.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and business planning related to the current portfolio of assets.
Prepare investment presentation materials for prospective opportunities.
Develop materials for investment committee meetings and board of directors’ presentations.
Prepare quarterly project updates and investor reporting materials.
Support and coordinate due diligence and transaction execution efforts for new investments.
Work closely with third-party consultants, internal stakeholders, and legal counsel to evaluate and advance investment opportunities.
Review and analyze development budgets, schedules, market reports, and other supporting documentation.

We are seeking a
Director, Origination
to play a pivotal role in building and enhancing relationships with real estate developers, property owners, and other key stakeholders to advance Cameron Stephens’ presence and drive the company’s strategic growth through facilitation of brand awareness. This role will focus on identifying business development opportunities and gaining market intelligence and more specifically be responsible for the following:
Marketing/Strategic Planning:
Work closely with Manager to facilitate brand awareness, refining Cameron Stephens’ brand and pitch strategy.
Develop strategic plans to support Cameron Stephens’ business goals and establish objectives of the Origination Team regarding existing and prospective clients/markets to make informed decisions about delegating responsibility for accounts to maximize potential.
Actively search for ways to grow brand awareness through business development initiatives (I.e. thought leadership, events, etc.).
Relationship Management:
Develop personal goals and accountabilities relating to specific relationships; demonstrating an ongoing willingness to assume higher degrees of responsibility and expand one’s network.
Work closely with the Origination Team to monitor the progress of projects and make process adjustments when deemed necessary.
Gain in-depth knowledge of underwriting processes and be able to speak to the advantages of using Cameron Stephens as a strategic lender.
Provide mentorship to junior originators as appropriate.
Mortgage Originating:
Source, structure, and underwrite commercial real estate loans, with a focus on land loans, construction, bridge, and term loans.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with developers, brokers, investors, and capital partners.
Keep informed of changes within diverse industry sectors and proactively identify opportunities to add value to transactions by understanding Client/Borrower needs; Investor needs; and competitor offerings.
Deal Management and Funding:
Work closely with Associate to obtain all the information required to effectively complete due diligence in preparation to present loans to the Investment Committee.
Present the LOI and term sheets to clients and engage in robust negotiations to secure their commitment.
Work with Associate to conduct market research, borrower due diligence, and KYC in compliance with AML legislation.
Work with Associate to finalize underwriting models and prepare comprehensive Loan Summaries.
Keep well-informed on potential issues with funding and proactively resolve problems if they arise.
Collaborate with Associate to manage a portfolio of loans, and provide direct oversight on loan advances, site inspections, and annual loan reviews.
Manage an active loan portfolio post-funding, including covenant compliance, DSCR monitoring, and borrower updates.
Prepare annual reviews, quarterly account management reports, and amendment/extension requests.
Maintain Salesforce and internal systems with complete accuracy.
Leadership To Associate(s), if applicable:
Provide mentorship and leadership to Associate(s).
Oversee performance management, including growth and compensation plans.
Set clear expectations for both personal performance and Associate(s)
Conduct weekly deliverable check ins.
Hold quarterly performance reviews against planned objectives, documented appropriately.

What we believe our ideal candidate will possess:
5+ years leadership experience in loan origination, sourcing directly and through third parties or brokers, and vast experience with banks and/or non-bank lending organizations.
Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or Finance, with an educational focus on Real Estate or Land Development or equivalent. Mortgage Agent License, Dealing Representative Registration considered an asset. MBA/ CFA, CSC considered an asset.
In-depth expertise in credit adjudication, acquisitions and/or underwriting, ideally within a broad array of asset classes.
Extensive understanding of Finance and the Canadian Real Estate Market/Development Industry required.
Excellent sales, marketing and branding skills, including strong communication/presentation, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Strong understanding of the sound management of credit and risk.
Entrepreneurially driven leader with strong initiative, ideally complemented by business development and marketing credentials.
Established long-term relationships within the Ontario region in commercial real estate that extend beyond residential land and construction and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry contacts, actively serving as a brand ambassador and facilitating market awareness of Cameron Stephens.
Demonstrated track-record of successfully originating deals in the $15M+ range.
Proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills while under pressure.
