  • Terminal Manager

    Position Overview: Canada Drayage Inc. (CDI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to lead our operations in Montreal. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operational activities, managing a team of dispatchers, coordinators, and drivers, and ensuring optimal service delivery for our customers. The ideal candidate is a proven leader in the transportation industry with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a bilingual environment. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Montreal branch, including dispatch, planning, and customer service functions. Lead and mentor a team of two dispatchers, two coordinators, and approximately 30 owner-operators, ensuring accountability, clear communication, and a high level of team engagement. Act as the primary liaison for all driver relations, addressing operational concerns, policy enforcement, and performance discussions. Maintain strong working relationships with customers by providing proactive updates, handling escalations, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service experience. Manage and monitor operational performance metrics including service levels, on-time delivery, and productivity KPIs. Ensure all dispatch and shipment information is updated in Trinium (our TMS) accurately and in a timely manner to enable reliable internal reporting and customer visibility. Analyze branch-level profit and loss (P&L) results and take corrective action as needed to ensure financial targets are met. Partner with Finance, Safety, Compliance, and HR teams to ensure operational activities align with company policies and expectations. Champion safety and compliance, working with drivers and staff to maintain high standards in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies to maintain a stable and high-performing driver base. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency. Represent CDI in a professional manner with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry. Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong working knowledge of Trinium or a similar TMS. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams (advanced level). Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of other Microsoft applications. Post-secondary education preferred. Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written). Key Competencies: Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent written and verbal communication in both official languages. Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. Deep understanding of trucking operations and operational cost drivers.     Position Overview:Canada Drayage Inc. (CDI) is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Halifax terminal. This individual will be responsible for managing the dispatch function, responding to driver and customer needs, and ensuring timely and accurate updates in our TMS. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, skilled problem solver, and proven team leader with experience in trucking operations.
    Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient and on-time execution of all shipments.Act as the first point of contact for drivers regarding operational issues, questions, and concerns.Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide accurate status updates.Ensure all updates in Trinium (our TMS) are completed accurately and on time to support head office reporting.Manage and mentor a team consisting of one dispatcher and approximately 30 owner-operators.Monitor workload distribution and adjust resources as needed to maintain service levels.Work collaboratively with internal departments to support service delivery, compliance, and profitability.Escalate operational challenges to the General Manager, as required.
    Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in dispatch or trucking operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.Strong working knowledge of Trinium or similar transportation management systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams (advanced level).Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of other Microsoft applications.Post-secondary education preferred.
