Warehouse Associate

Canada Mat Inc. is a proudly Canadian-owned manufacturer specializing in premium custom matting solutions for commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential buildings. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team and support daily operations across shipping, receiving, inventory, and general warehouse organization.
Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring efficient movement of materials, accuracy of inventory, and timely order fulfillment. This hands-on role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
Process, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on schedule.
Receive, unload, and properly place incoming inventory items.
Examine incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, or defects.
Assign inventory numbers to all new materials received.
Identify all materials received for specific customer orders.
Upload receiving documents to the appropriate Trello card (following established receiving processes).
Organize warehouse space to maximize efficiency and capacity.
Adhere to all company safety and hygiene regulations.
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards daily.
Contribute ideas to improve or optimize warehouse processes and workflow.
Inventory Management
Maintain the Inventory Master Sheet with up-to-date and accurate data.
Apply color-coded indicators to all materials, where applicable:
Blue: Receiving date
Yellow: Material earmarked for a specific customer
Green: Material add-backs
Red: Indicates an issue or error with the material
Perform weekly cycle counts of 25 randomly selected items.
Complete month-end inventory counts, including:
All rubber and anti-fatigue mats
All finished goods (A/F mats)
All raw materials (rubber, foam, edging)
Complete all NTOM processes required for production team support.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of warehouse experience (manufacturing or production environment an asset).
Working knowledge of company software systems (or ability to quickly learn).
Valid forklift certification.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
Ability to work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
