THE ROLE As a Cook, you will contribute to an excellent customer experience in the military messes (military service club), golf, curling and marinas food services operations. You will engage in the artful preparation, cooking, and serving of food that aligns with our designed menus and standardized recipes. Your hands will ensure each dish meets our standards for taste and presentation. As a key player in our kitchen, you will handle a variety of tasks that are essential to our success. From washing and preparing fruits and vegetables, cooking different types of proteins and ensuring the quality and portion sizes of our dishes, your attention to detail will contribute to providing our clients with a pleasing experience. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your creativity by decorating dishes in a way that suits the occasion. Your responsibilities will extend beyond the plate, as you will oversee the proper use and storage of all food commodities, operate kitchen equipment, and restock necessary items to keep our service running smoothly. Daily, you will manage reconditioning programs for Canadian Armed Forces members who may be affected with a medical condition and improve their functional abilities related to their emotional or physical limitations. You will have expertise in designing gender specific programs and services that support reconditioning, prevent future injury, and increase operational readiness based on established employment standards. Being a subject matter expert in your field, you will support your local team in providing training and professional development and provide overall management of the program and your employees. You will assist Health Promotion partners promoting healthy practices and injury prevention through initiative such as educational programs, special events and other activities related to physical fitness. THE ROLE The Swim Instructor/Lifeguard plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and ensuring the safety of our military members and their families. Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the pool or beach. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our services are here to help. Lifeguarding is an exciting and rewarding job that carries great responsibility. Guards take courses and train hard for events they hope will never happen and which they work hard to prevent. As a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard, you will prepare and deliver swimming lessons and supervise those using the pool ensuring their safety. When guarding you will prevent accidents and spot potential trouble and intervene before it becomes life-threatening. You will explain safety rules to swimmers and enforce them. As an instructor you will teach participants how to swim and be responsible for designing activities for particular groups, such as seniors or children. You will motivate your students and help them reach their full potential. THE ROLE The Day Camp Inclusion Support Facilitator plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families. We promote and encourage people who require inclusion support to participate in a wide variety of activities offered throughout our communities. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. You will have an important portfolio, facilitating participation of people of varying abilities in the community activities of their choice. You will need to be a compassionate, empathetic and detail-oriented person who possess strong listening and oral communication skills to be successful in this role. Patience, a passion for helping people and being a team player are also essential attributes. You may be working with one participant or a group of children; all who need help and care to integrate and feel included. This means assisting with the development, planning and implementation of inclusive recreational activities for children with inclusion needs and assisting with personal care and health needs in a variety of settings including at the playground, gym, pool, washroom, at lunch and on field trips. You will ensure integration of participants into recreational programs by using assistive technology and resolving accessibility issues.
