THE OPPORTUNITY As a Specialist, Construction, you will directly support a region in delivering New Restaurant Openings (NROs). The Specialist, Construction works effectively with architects, engineers, and landlords throughout this process and ensures that construction design standards and lease terms are accurately being delivered. You will assist in conducting onsite, quality assurance evaluation of vendors, helping ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and with utmost skill. The Specialist, Construction may work with the local Facilities team members to coordinate punch walks, 90‑day walks, and 1‑year walks. The Specialist, Construction will assist in communicating with General Contractors (GCs) and Sub‑Contractors (Subs) regarding expectations and quality control for their region as well as the Chipotle vision statement. They will contribute to Chipotle’s Development Plan by supporting the Development team functions in their respective regions from Site Assessment Request to Grand Opening. WHAT YOU’LL DO Support Design Managers (DMs) during the SAR process, including coordinating with external vendors (AORs, Engineers, etc), and establishing key dates and milestones. Support Design Managers (DMs) and Construction Managers (CMs) in managing, updating, and holding key dates and milestones during the Development process. Facilitate DM and CM meetings to review specific project timelines, track and discuss trends, manage exceptions, and share progress towards regional goals. Facilitate External Vendor & Partner meetings to review specific project timelines, discuss trends, manage exceptions, and share progress towards regional goals. Actively participate and lead in specific project meetings as required, including but not limited to construction site visits. Partner closely with the internal partners to assure seamless and smooth hand‑offs between Real Estate, Design, and Construction during the Development process. Collaborating with internal Real Estate and Design teams to generate construction budgets and maintain accurate project schedules. Implementing procedures and managing the processes for the successful utilization of outsource GCs, Subs, suppliers, and vendors; and ensuring proper interpretation and implementation of such procedures and processes. Overseeing pre‑construction landlord delivery progress, negotiating with Triad support substandard premises delivery (PDR) conditions, and resolving all issues related to the restaurant for 90 days post turnover. Scheduling/coordinating 90‑day walks within their respective regions. Promoting brand identity by assuring quality of fit and finish, adherence to specifications and standards, compliance with required construction timeframes and approved budgets; and assisting in pre‑opening marketing effort. Engaging in clear, consistent communications with Restaurant Support Center, Operations, restaurant staff, landlords, and other Development staff on a frequent basis. Ensuring the compliance of outside vendors regarding billing, payments, submittal of required documents, and all construction related documentation during projects. Providing development support to various cross‑functional teams in the region on an ad hoc basis. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4‑year college or university preferred. 3‑5+ years of Construction, Design, Development, and/or Project Management experience. Be able to work independently. Strong people and negotiation skills. Ability to develop/maintain collaborative relationships with Development peers. Ability to develop positive relationships at all levels of the organization. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be able to work within a fast‑paced and high‑growth environment. Proficiency in applicable project management programs (including Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to travel required. PAY TRANSPARENCY Pay range is $78,000.00–$106,500.00 depending on skill level, experience and/or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws. He/she maintains a clean, organized line with properly functioning line equipment.
