Ports & Marine Market Leader
to help grow our presence across Canada’s port, marine terminal, and coastal infrastructure markets. This senior leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of client relationships, strategic growth, and complex infrastructure delivery.
You will work closely with port authorities, terminal operators, marine agencies, and Indigenous partners to align CIMA+’s multidisciplinary expertise with the evolving needs of Canada’s marine gateways — from capital expansion and asset renewal to climate resilience, sustainability, and digital innovation.
The role can be based out of any of our 40 offices in Canada.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with port authorities, marine terminal operators, and public-sector stakeholders
Lead business development efforts and position CIMA+ for upcoming port and marine infrastructure opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams across transportation, environment, energy, coastal engineering, and digital services
Support clients with integrated solutions including:
Ports and marine infrastructure
Coastal and climate-resilience planning

Qualifications
15+ years of experience in ports, marine, coastal, or transportation infrastructure

Building Sustainability, Ontario Market Lead
to grow and lead our sustainability advisory practice in Ontario. This role is primarily client facing and market focused, with accountability for building relationships, shaping opportunities, leading pursuits, and positioning CIMA+ as a trusted advisor for building performance, decarbonization, and resilience strategies. The role works closely with our Ontario Buildings leadership and our national sustainability team to convert market demand into scalable services and consistent delivery and will collaborate closely with national sustainability leads and regional sustainability leads across Canada to align strategy, share expertise, and scale delivery.
The successful candidate brings a strong Ontario client network, proven business development capability, excellent facilitation and communication skills, and enough technical depth to lead executive level conversations and guide multidisciplinary teams toward measurable outcomes.
This role can be based in our Toronto, Mississauga, Markham or Bowmanville offices in a hybrid model (2 days /week in the office).
Key responsibilities
Ontario growth and client leadership
Own the Ontario market growth plan for building sustainability services and deliver annual sales targets
Build and maintain senior level client relationships across developers, owners, institutions, utilities, and public sector clients
Identify and qualify opportunities, lead pursuit strategy, and direct proposal development in collaboration with internal teams
Lead client meetings and executive presentations that connect technical solutions to value, risk reduction, and return on investment
Represent CIMA+ through industry presence, speaking opportunities, partner relationships, and targeted thought leadership
National and cross regional collaboration
Work closely with national sustainability leads and regional sustainability leads to align service offerings, share best practices, and coordinate delivery
Partner with other regions to support multi market clients and pursue national opportunities with consistent positioning and technical approach
Contribute to national practice development, including tools, templates, quality standards, and knowledge sharing
Advisory and technical leadership
Provide strategic direction and senior oversight for building performance analysis, operational carbon, and decarbonization roadmaps for new and existing buildings
Guide project teams on energy and carbon targets, EUI strategy, electrification pathways, and retrofit prioritization
Provide senior review of energy modeling and GHG analysis approaches for alignment with NECB, Ontario requirements, and project goals
Lead advisory conversations on whole building life cycle assessment, embodied carbon reduction, and life cycle cost considerations
Support climate risk, vulnerability, and resilience assessments and help clients translate findings into actionable measures
Practice, team, and quality leadership
Lead, mentor, and grow the Ontario sustainability team, including recruitment and capability development
Coordinate resourcing with the national sustainability team to scale delivery without being the day-to-day modeler on every project
Establish service offerings, templates, quality processes, and consistent client deliverables for Ontario pursuits and projects
Facilitate integrated design workshops and stakeholder alignment sessions to maintain momentum from early design through delivery
Partner with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and planning teams to embed sustainability into project strategy and client narratives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in building engineering, building science, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline
• 10 plus years of progressive experience in building sustainability consulting, with clear evidence of client leadership and practice growth
• Demonstrated success leading pursuits, building pipelines, and converting relationships into secured work
• Strong Ontario market network and the ability to build credibility with senior decision makers
• Working knowledge of energy modeling tools and sustainability platforms such as EnergyPlus, IES VE, eQUEST, and LCA software such as One Click LCA, with the ability to direct and review technical work produced by others
• Strong understanding of sustainable development, energy efficient systems, carbon accounting, and incentive or funding programs
• Professional accreditations such as LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Envision SP, or equivalent are strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to translate technical topics into clear business decisions

Primary Responsibilities
Support the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the distribution team from response to service requests to project delivery;
Develop design work packages with scope, schedule and effort estimates;
Resolve design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis, exercising independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, recommending safe engineering designs to support successful operations and/or project completion;
Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of Distribution engineering services to be provided, establishing the basic design criteria with the client, approving technical documentation, and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards, objectives, and specifications to support completion of projects safely, with quality, within budget and on time;
Provide specialized expertise in Distribution and actively mentor, coach, and set high standards for work performance, influencing the establishment of standards, frameworks, and targets for junior members of the team;
Exercise innovation to propose creative modifications to improve work processes, guidelines, instructions, procedures and standards where possible;
Design overhead line structures and associated facilities for voltages up to 35kV in an electric utility environment, such as equipment supports/foundations, termination structures, manholes/vaults, duct banks.
Qualifications
10+ years experience in an engineering role with specific Distribution knowledge ideally within British Columbia;
P.Eng designation or eligible to become a P.Eng with EGBC;
Experience working with utilities in Western Canada;
Experience related to expertise in Overhead - and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV and in the electrical, mechanical, civil, and operating requirements of components used to build such systems;
Good communications skills to adequately articulate and discuss technical options and ability to present proposed solutions to a wide range of audiences, adapting to the different understanding levels of the audience;
Familiarity with GIS, CAD systems and drawing standards;
Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software such as SPIDAcalc and PLSCAD;
Ability to work with remote partners and team members;
Maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees;
Available for occasional travel (mostly within Western Canada).
