    PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (BUYER) Location: Montréal, QC Type: Full-time, Permanent Department: Field Ops & PMO About CRWS Canadian Railway Services (CRWS) is a fast-growing engineering and project delivery firm specializing in rolling stock, rail systems, and industrial manufacturing projects across North America.     What You’ll Do As a Procurement Specialist (Buyer), you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required to support engineering, manufacturing, and project delivery activities. You will work closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure procurement activities align with technical requirements and project schedules.
    This role operates in a delivery-driven rail and industrial environment where supply chains are complex and responsiveness is essential. You will be expected to manage multiple purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve supply issues, without compromising quality, compliance, or cost control.
    Key Responsibilities Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with project and operational requirements. Prepare and issue purchase orders aligned with approved budgets, specifications, and internal procedures. Request, analyze, and compare supplier quotations to ensure best value, quality, and lead time. Manage supplier relationships and support supplier selection, onboarding, and performance monitoring. Track order status and proactively follow up with suppliers to mitigate delays or shortages. Resolve procurement issues related to delivery, quality, documentation, or discrepancies. Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to support evolving requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal controls and quality requirements. Support cost tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
    This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
    What We’re Looking For Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. 3–7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing, rail, transportation, or industrial environments. Experience sourcing technical components, fabricated parts, or engineered equipment. Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. Proficiency with ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

You communicate clearly with internal teams and external suppliers. You are proactive in identifying risks and resolving issues. You stay calm and effective under time pressure.
    Working Conditions Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday. On-site presence at the CRWS Montréal office. Occasional visits to suppliers, manufacturing facilities, or project sites as required. Flexibility required to meet production and delivery deadlines typical of the rail industry.
