I’m supporting a global client that’s hiring a Senior Construction Specialist to lead large-scale infrastructure and industrial construction projects. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of largest construction in the area at 370 acres (150 hectares).
This is a 12 month on-site contract based in St. Thomas, Ontario, with a strong possibility of extension. The role is focused on civil and structural construction management, overseeing building works, foundations, and infrastructure for an advanced manufacturing facility.
You’ll manage day-to-day construction activities, ensuring all work follows design drawings, safety standards, and project timelines. You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues, monitor site progress, and ensure quality delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:Leading site coordination for civil and building worksReviewing drawings and technical documents to ensure complianceSupervising contractors and managing construction schedulesSupporting inspections, safety reviews, and quality controlHandling site documentation and progress reportingProviding guidance to junior engineers and construction staff
You should have:Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (P.Eng. preferred)8+ years of experience managing construction or industrial building projectsStrong understanding of foundations, earthworks, buried utilities, and large facility buildsFamiliarity with design-build projects and construction management processesKnowledge of CAD/BIM tools and local building codesExperience managing contractors and resolving site-level issues
