  • UI/UX Artist  

    Overview We’re hiring a creative and experienced UI Artist to help evolve and enhance our games UI. This role is perfect for someone with a strong eye for visual design, solid UI/UX fundamentals, and a passion for collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Responsibilities As a UI Artist, you’ll work closely with the UI Art Lead, Principal UI Artist, game designers, and UI programmers to design, implement, and polish UI elements that align with our games established visual identity and adhere to its technical constraints. You'll also contribute to the evolution of the game\'s interface by helping define new visual styles where needed. Strong technical troubleshooting skills are highly valued in this role. Requirements A minimum 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, ideally with experience from AAA game development or equivalent A portfolio that demonstrates strong UI/UX fundamentals, screen layout, and iconography design Proven experience collaborating with UI programmers and conveying clear, actionable design feedback Proficiency in UI/UX design tools such as Adobe XD or Figma, with the ability to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual layouts for in-game interfaces Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Familiarity with Jira, Basecamp, and Perforce version control Experience creating game-ready UI assets optimized for performance Exceptional design problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and navigate complex systems independently Strong grasp of design principles, including color theory, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities and iterative workflows Strong organizational and technical troubleshooting abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively give and receive constructive feedback, as well as clearly convey design concepts and ideas to internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the project Passion for video games and a strong interest in player experience Preferred Extras Experience with Lua scripting Knowledge of Flash animation techniques Familiarity with working in game engines Experience creating FX and materials specifically for UI Proficiency in Blender or other 3D software Background in motion design and animation principles (After Effects) Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application.     Overview Digital Extremes is seeking a Senior Tools Programmer to join our team! The Senior Tools Programmer will be responsible for contributing to the tools our development team uses to create our games, both improving existing tools and concepting and implementing new editor features to assist the designers and developers. They work closely with our creative, dedicated and diverse development team.
