    Your opportunity
    Dillon’s Energy Transition group is looking for a Greenhouse Gas Verification Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.
    You will be joining a focused team with established processes for success but will be given an opportunity to contribute new ideas to further our clients’ business relationship with Dillon.     Responsibilities
    What your day will look like
    Project Management & Verification
    Collaborate with our Practice Lead and senior team to develop and execute strategic plans for expanding Dillon's technical capacity, service offerings, and market presence within the GHG verification sector, leveraging a deep understanding of diverse GHG programs and regulatory frameworks. Proactively monitor and analyze emerging provincial, national, and potentially international GHG verification requirements (e.g., UNFCCC CDM, California ARB, ICAO CORSIA), and develop strategies to ensure Dillon and our clients remain compliant and at the forefront of industry best practices. Lead the development and delivery of internal training programs on a wide range of GHG verification methodologies, program-specific requirements, and audit best practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ensuring staff are equipped to handle complex verifications. Serve as the lead verifier for a diverse portfolio of GHG programs, taking full responsibility for the planning, execution, and reporting of verification engagements in accordance with Dillon's accredited standards (details: ( )) and specific program requirements (e.g., OBPS, TIER, TCR, potential US-based programs). Lead the effort to maintain and enhance our various GHG-related accreditations (e.g., ANSI National Accreditation Board - ANAB), ensuring GGAS systems and procedures adhere to the highest standards and effectively managing associated documentation and audits. Lead client engagements to effectively scope complex GHG verification projects across various sectors (e.g., manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, aviation), understand their specific needs, and develop tailored verification plans. Establish and maintain a meticulously organized and up-to-date system for all GHG verification project documentation and accreditation records, ensuring audit readiness, knowledge retention, and adherence to program-specific requirements. Actively participate in the ongoing development, implementation, and improvement of the company's Quality Management System, contributing expertise in GHG verification standards and best practices. Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our internal Greenhouse Gas tool, Encompass, to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to handle diverse program requirements.

    Learning & Development
    Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous self-development and actively pursue relevant professional development opportunities, staying current with the latest GHG regulations, verification methodologies, and program updates (e.g., CORSIA, potential new offset protocols). Provide expert guidance, technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff, sharing practical experience in GHG verification across various programs and contributing significantly to their professional growth and development. Represent Dillon Consulting and enhance our corporate profile through active involvement in relevant professional associations, industry committees, and speaking engagements, potentially focusing on areas of deep expertise such as specific GHG programs or accreditation management.

    Qualifications
    Undergraduate or advanced degree from a recognized university in a technical or sustainability-related field and/or a demonstrated track record of progressive and extensive experience in GHG accounting, reporting, validation, and especially verification across a variety of regulatory and voluntary programs.

    Experience
    Minimum of 5+ years of progressive and increasingly senior experience in quality management systems and significant direct experience leading greenhouse gas verifications under various programs (e.g., federal OBPS, provincial regulations like Alberta TIER, US programs like TCR and California ARB, and ideally international programs like UNFCCC CDM or ICAO CORSIA). Expert and up-to-date understanding of federal and provincial Greenhouse Gas regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks in Canada, with a strong working knowledge of at least one or more US or international GHG programs. Proven ability to apply Greenhouse Gas regulations and reporting requirements to corporate reporting initiatives across diverse sectors, demonstrating experience with site visits, data analysis, risk assessment, and the development of verification plans and reports. Established and effective working relationships with relevant environmental regulators and industry stakeholders, potentially including experience interacting with accreditation bodies like ANAB. Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with strong data analysis and presentation skills, including the ability to manage and analyze large datasets related to GHG emissions. Strong familiarity with various Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14065) and a demonstrated understanding of their practical application in maintaining GHG verification accreditations. Highly motivated and proactive individual with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide strong leadership within a collaborative team environment, including experience managing and mentoring junior staff. Obtained a certificate in ISO 14064-3 is a significant asset, with additional experience or certifications in other relevant GHG programs (e.g., California ARB Lead Verifier, CORSIA Verifier) being highly advantageous. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex verification projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also possessing strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients and audit teams. Excellent English language skills (oral and written) are essential. Proficiency in French is considered a valuable asset, and experience working with international clients or programs would be beneficial.

    Experience
    Experience in providing technical guidance to external and internal stakeholders regarding risk assessment methods in Ontario (O.
