Job Purpose The Human Resources Generalist is a member of the HR Team and will be reporting directly to the General Counsel & Director of Corporate Services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing recruitment and documentation related to all stages of the employment life cycle. They will also be responsible for providing support on various HR projects and initiatives.
Our ideal candidate has experience with HR procedures and can juggle various tasks and projects in a timely manner, follow the defined protocols and maintain confidentiality.
This role requires the ability to work well under timelines and in a team environment.
Major Responsibilities Ensures HR functions and queries are delivered as per appropriate standards and in a courteous manner Provides front-line support to managers on HR matters related to recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and terminations Oversees onboarding to ensure that required documentation and training are completed in a timely manner Prepares documentation related to terminations, employment changes, etc. for all employees in the system Interacts with internal clients or employees around specific work efforts and deliverables Oversees the maintenance of employee data, training records and personnel files Assists HR partners and HR leads in preparing required letters and other documentation, and on special HR projects as assigned Documents various standard operating procedures and HR processes Oversees the administration of Company group benefits plan as per benefit eligibility Stays well informed of Company human resources policies, procedures, and delegation of authority Stays well informed of changes to applicable employment standards laws and other HR-related applicable legislation Manages the execution of performance management including role definitions and accountabilities, annual performance assessments, and identifying learning and mentoring requirements and opportunities of the team Appropriately oversees the investigation and resolution of team member issues, employment law matters, and establishes effective mechanisms to receive and act on feedback
Qualifications – Education / Knowledge College degree/diploma with a specialization in Human Resources Management CHRP designation 2-4 years’ experience in human resources supporting employee life cycle operations Experience in non-union and unionized environments Strong attention to detail Ability to interpret and analyze data related to HR metrics Has strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills Intermediate level expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to priorities Confidence to ask questions and seek clarity when required Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset, though not required
