We seek a passionate and highly motivated Microgrid Engineer to join our team.
Job Duties This is a multi-faceted position:Design of renewable energy systems and microgrids that incorporate distributed energy resources such as solar, battery energy storage, combined heat & power. Power system studiesDesign, implement, and operate a real-time digital simulator (RTDS) labProgramming of protection & control systems for microgridsSCADA design, testing, and implementationDevelop and implement human machine interface (HMI)Testing & commissioning activitiesMulti-discipline field reviews at construction sitesEngaging directly with contractors and clientsUse of 3D Laser Scanner for reality capture and physical digital twin integrationOther project and administrative duties as assigned.
Candidate Experience & Skill RequirementsMasters Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems;Minimum of 2 years of experience in power systems or directly related field;Experience with protection & control equipment such as Schweitzer (SEL) Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) and recloser controllers.Experience with power system software such as EMTP-RV, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink, PSS/E, RSCAD, or CYME.Demonstrated flexibility to meet and adapt to changes in organizational priorities;Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook);Working knowledge of office procedures and standard office equipment;Knowledge of business English, including grammar, spelling and syntax;Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;Class 5 driver’s license.

LocationThis position is based in Kelowna, BC, at 1350 St Paul St, or alternatively in Saskatoon, SK, at 2555 Grasswood Road East. Some travel is required. Working Hours40 hours per week. Monday to Friday. CompensationThe compensation package includes a competitive salary, medical & dental benefits and a cell phone allowance.
