Mission The main role of a machining programmer is to design and optimize numerical control (NC) programs to control machine tools in a machine shop. Responsibilities Tool Path Optimization: Adjust parameters to improve cutting tool efficiency, accuracy, and tool life. Drawing and Interpretation: Use technical drawings and specifications to ensure tolerances and customer requirements are met. Tool and Machining Parameter Selection: Choose cutting speeds, feeds, depths of cut, and machining strategies appropriate for materials. Simulation and Validation: Test programs with simulation software to avoid collisions and ensure compliant manufacturing. Operator Support: Provide technical assistance to machinists for installation and adjustment of production settings. Continuous Improvement: Analyze processes to reduce cycle times, minimize waste, and optimize production. Maintain high productivity and quality by designing and drawing jigs or special tools for machining. Required Qualifications DEC in Mechanical Engineering Technology or DEP in CNC machining, or relevant experience in the manufacturing industry. Excellent knowledge of machining software programming, preferably Mastercam. Good spoken and written English (definite asset). Schedule Day shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Friday 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Compensation Competitive salary. Benefits Optimal work‑life balance.
