Position Overview We’re looking for a Transmission Asset Manager to lead the planning, maintenance, and life cycle performance of our natural gas pipeline systems. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll guide a team of engineers and technologists to make smart, data-informed decisions that improve reliability, safety, and efficiency across our infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for developing long-term investment and maintenance strategies, ensuring our assets are performing at their best while aligning with business goals and regulatory expectations. Collaboration is key—you’ll work closely with teams across Transmission operations, engineering, System Integrity, finance, PMO, and regulatory affairs to build strong partnerships and deliver results. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable plans. You’ll bring strong leadership skills to motivate your team, foster cross-functional alignment, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Your communication skills will help you build consensus, present ideas to senior leadership, and gain support for long-term initiatives. In year 1, you will: Develop a culture of accountability by establishing clear ownership of asset performance across teams. Develop and implement a Transmission Asset Management Plan aligned with business risk management and strategic asset management plan. Establish asset management framework to support data-driven decision-making and lifecycle optimization. Lead and mentor the engineering and technologist team, ensuring alignment with capital and maintenance planning processes. Deliver annual activity and budget plans for transmission assets, including capital and O&M work. Build strong cross-functional relationships with Transmission Operations, System Integrity, PMO, Engineering, Finance, and Regulatory teams. In year 2, you will: Refine and optimize multi-year capital and maintenance plans, incorporating learnings from Year 1. Lead development of long-term rate filings and ensure alignment with financial and regulatory targets. Implement programs and projects, based on asset performance data and drive execution of high value investments to minimize risk to the organization. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process redesigns and business case development for new investments. Communicate asset performance, investment plans, and risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders. Support Asset Management enhancement initiatives including the improvements of Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. SAP) and Capital Investment Planning Tools (e.g. Copperleaf). What it takes: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited University. 8 to 12 years directly related experience. You will be responsible for operations of a wide variety of equipment such as LNG storage tanks, pumps, and more. Responsibilities An employee so classified shall meet the required qualifications to perform all of the required duties of an LNG Operator 2 and 3 as assigned. Shall perform operating, maintenance and other duties in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Required to respond to emergencies and plant process upsets. Shall work with minimum supervision, work effectively as a team member with other employees and contractors, and make decisions as required to achieve and maintain optimum plant operations. Shall train the LNG Operator 2 and 3 as required. Perform basic maintenance and other duties as directed. Progression from an LNG Operator 2 to a LNG Operator 1 will be dependent upon demonstrated competence to carry out all aspects of the job. This will include successful completion of LNG Level 2 Competency Program and a hands-on operating test to demonstrate proficiency. Qualifications Must have successfully completed Parts A&B of the Interprovincial Fourth Class Power Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who hold their Fourth Class Power Engineering certification. Position incumbents are required to complete an Interprovincial Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate within 12 months of obtaining position. Must be able to perform the duties of the Operator 3 as assigned. Demonstrated ability to evaluate conditions and make decisions to achieve optimum plant operation, particularly under critical circumstances and stressful conditions. Must be able to work alone. Responsible for assisting maintaining Plant Equipment and the facility. Demonstrated deep mechanical understanding to ensure the safe operation of the equipment at all times. Maintains safe and reliable plant operation by acting as the in-depth knowledge focal point for outside areas of responsibility in regards to equipment criticality rating, specifications, mechanical limits, etc. Demonstrated ability to communicate in both verbal and written form and be capable of maintaining neat, accurate records and detailed logs of plant operation. Must have a proven record of demonstrating initiative and a sense of responsibility and accountability. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must have demonstrated safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices on a sustained basis. Must be prepared to work rotating shifts. Must be in good physical condition without a fear of heights and the ability to climb ladders. Demonstrated experience with electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, large reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, commercial refrigeration equipment and multistage pumps. Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of thermodynamics. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with process upset/ crisis situations in their area and constructively modify plan to adjust to changing needs and priorities. A valid British Columbia Class ‘5’ driver’s license, with a provided driver’s abstract. In the event operational requirements dictate qualification/certification to complete an assigned task by the company, the cost will be at the expense of the Company. Additional Information Must be able to work 7x7 12-hour shifts, alternating days and nights.
