Frontier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Ltd. is a locally owned, well-established new vehicle dealership in *beautiful Smithers, BC*. We’re looking for a skilled, motivated *Journeyman Automotive Service Technician (Red Seal)* to join our busy, well-equipped shop. *Duties* * Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and advanced automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately. * Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, diesel engines, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). * Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently. * Service vehicles with focus on alignments, wheel balancing, brake systems, suspension components, and steering systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance. * Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems effectively. * Complete auto estimating for repairs, ensuring accurate assessment of parts and labor costs for customer approval. * Maintain detailed service records, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and quality standards. *Requirements* * Valid Red Seal certification as a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician or equivalent recognized certification. * Proven dealership experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance. * Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ADAS technology, transmissions, diesel engines, and powertrain components. * Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostics software and schematics interpretation. * Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools. * Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. * Experience working with CDJR vehicles or similar brands is considered an asset.
