As a Project Manager, you will be involved in rewarding work on construction projects including industrial process, power generation projects, water and wastewater treatment and environment remediation. Responsibilities Regulatory and Compliance Management: Investigate incidents and reports; provide expert advice to senior colleagues; minimize risk exposures and ensure adherence with regulatory standards by collaborating with internal functions to implement compliance programs. Stakeholder Management: Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective working relationships for projects and ensure stakeholder needs are identified and met. Leadership and Direction: Communicate local action plans and how they relate to the function's strategy and the organization's mission and vision; motivate the team to achieve local business goals. Performance Management: Develop and pursue performance objectives; use the organization's performance systems to improve personal and team performance; set objectives for direct reports and hold people accountable. Organizational Capability Building: Identify development needs, plan and implement actions to build capabilities; provide training or coaching to others to improve performance. Requirements Management: Coordinate elicitation and analysis of requirements; document and manage them through the project lifecycle; verify end deliverables. Project Closeout and Handover: Provide documentation and training for a successful transition to business as usual; record lessons learned. Project Risk and Issue Management: Identify risks and issues, develop and implement solutions; escalate where appropriate. Education Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level Experience General Experience: 7+ years of work experience in the relevant area to a fully competent level.     The Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial, Regional, and local municipal transportation agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large-scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways, roads and bridges, transit and multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. Our team provides integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from initial policy, transportation economics, and business case advice, through concept, environmental assessment, detailed design, construction administration, and asset management support services
    This role is intended for senior CAD leads looking to continue their career in the design of transportation structures for municipalities, MTO, IO, and major transportation partners.
    This role is also suitable for an experienced Intermediate Designer who is looking to advance their career to become a subject matter expert in transportation structure design, and who embraces the new technologies and software in modern engineering design delivery.
    Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
    Responsibilities
    Design and Conceptualization: Taking engineering notes, specifications, rough sketches, etc, and formalizing them into working drawings. In this role you will develop working drawings from equipment specifications, engineering notes, sketches, and detailed drawings, ensuring that they meet company and industry standards and codes. Collaboration and Communication: Large and small team collaboration. Communication with other teams (highways, civil, electrical, geotechnical, etc.) sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, other team members, and clients Applications and Software: Exposure or desire to learn using visualization software platforms (Infraworks, etc.) and design programming (Dynamo, etc.) are considered assets but not required. Team: Working as part of a team, and providing project design leadership, including mentorship and guidance to Intermediate and Junior staff. Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures. Operational Compliance: Applies technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards and codes such as CSA, and MTO Standard Details. Design Delivery: Experience in design delivery within conventional and design-build project models is considered an asset.
    Education
    Diploma in Structural Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
    Experience
    General Experience: 15+ years' experience in relevant design experience for bridges and related steel/concrete structure's experience. Experience in bridge rehabilitation techniques and methodologies; Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley, and ProjectWise Skilled in Microstation (Asset) The ability to work in large multi-discipline teams and collaborate across regions. Ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team; Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license

    What you will bring to the team:
    Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering Professional Engineer Designation P.Eng. Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation considered an asset. 10 - 15 years post-graduate experience - minimum 10 years in multi-discipline water and wastewater treatment projects. Proven track record in business development, project capture planning, and proposal writing. Proven experience in leading and managing technical and business aspects of water and wastewater treatment projects, including pumping stations, guiding project teams through the study, design, and construction phases. In depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes is required Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, logistics, equipment & methodology selection. Familiar with cost estimating & scheduling related to treatment infrastructure Experience in risk management analysis, evaluation and presentation to the client. Experience in preparation of detailed design reports & construction reporting. Liaise with other disciplines, professionals, clients and third party as needed. Excellent verbal and report writing skills. Excellent problem solving, decision making and teamwork skills.

    What you will bring to the team:
    Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering Professional Engineer Designation P.Eng. Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation considered an asset. 10 - 15 years post-graduate experience - minimum 10 years in multi-discipline water and wastewater treatment projects. Proven track record in business development, project capture planning, and proposal writing. Proven experience in leading and managing technical and business aspects of water and wastewater treatment projects, including pumping stations, guiding project teams through the study, design, and construction phases. In depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes is required Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, logistics, equipment & methodology selection. Familiar with cost estimating & scheduling related to treatment infrastructure Experience in risk management analysis, evaluation and presentation to the client. Experience in preparation of detailed design reports & construction reporting. Liaise with other disciplines, professionals, clients and third party as needed. Excellent verbal and report writing skills. Excellent problem solving, decision making and teamwork skills.
