  • Sr. Production Engineer

    POSITION: SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER
    The Senior Production Engineer will play a key role in optimizing well performance and supporting operational excellence at Greenfire. This position requires a hands-on, technically focused individual who can integrate engineering expertise with day-to-day field operations in a SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) environment. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, to contribute to the analysis, optimization, and planning of production and operational strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and to drive continuous improvement.This is a permanent, full-time position based at Greenfire Resources’ Calgary office, with occasional fieldwork as required based on operational needs and management discretion.
    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Reporting to the Director, Production
    Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
    Provide production engineering expertise within a multi-disciplinary team to monitor, analyze and optimize SAGD well production.Collaborate and maintain a strong interface with Operations regarding the day-to-day well management to establish and optimize production and injection targets within field and plant capacities.Chair weekly and monthly reviews for production performance on assigned areas to align subsurface teams on strategies and tactics to meet or exceed targets and create recovery strategies as required.Identify and manage re-development or workover scope opportunities.Subsurface completion design for both Greenfield and Brownfield applications.Artificial lift design for both gas lift and mechanical technologies.Identify and recommend new technologies to improve the SAGD recovery process.Participate in short and long-term planning, including forecasting, as well as assessing and making recommendations for capital projects to improve operational costs.Responsible for upkeep of daily and monthly production reporting, including Production Accounting.Ensure all corporate and regulatory standards are properly interpreted to minimizing risk of non-performance, incidents, damage to the environment or other loss of value, etc.Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.


    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:
    Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, APEGA registration required.8+ years’ engineering experience, with preference for SAGD experience.Knowledge of related disciplines would be an asset:Drilling, completions and operations/facilities engineering;Artificial lift systems (e.g. rod pumps, gas lift and ESP systems);Subsurface wellbore design; orThermodynamics and fluid dynamics.Well IntegrityExperience with oilfield software packages for production accounting, drilling & completions data management, and data visualization are considered an asset (e.g., Wellview, Power BI, & Parcview).Strong ability to analyze and problem solve and effectively communicate with stakeholders.An ability to marry operational decisions with resulting economic impact.Excellent communication skills, both written, and oral.Must hold a valid Class-5 driver’s license.Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.

  • Senior Process Engineer

    Senior Process Engineer
    The Process Engineer is a key member of the Engineering team and contributes to process optimization, trouble shooting, and project initiatives of Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation (GROC). GROC is a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, where it is expected to handle multiple projects, with a wide scope of work at the same time. This role can be either a full time, or a 12-month contract position, with 40-hrs per week based in Greenfire Resources Calgary office, with regular site visits.
    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager
    Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Conduct feasibility level process studies to identify the scope of work for development, debottlenecking, management of change, and optimization projects. Including development of scope of work and process design basis Support projects by participating in and providing input to key project milestones including: DBM review, design review, PHA, etc. Support third party engineering consultants, answering technical questions and providing direction where required. Review and provide input to vendor drawings and documents. Perform process engineering calculations and process modelling as required, to support facility troubleshooting, debottlenecking and projects. Support operations with troubleshooting, optimization initiatives, and the management of change program. Proactively identify optimization / improvement opportunities Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams, line designation tables, equipment data sheets, instrument data sheets. Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders including: Operations, Development, Production, Environment, and Regulatory. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET: At least ten years of relevant engineering experience in Oil Sands SAGD technology (CPF and Well pads). Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Familiarity of current standards and codes such as ASME, API, CSA, AER Directives etc., and a fluency with process design software such as Hysys, Flarenet, EDR etc. Proven proficiency with analytics, such as process plant data trending/data analysis tools, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, processes, and hazards in the workplace. Excellent communication skills, both written, and oral. Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
