As Vice President, Operations of our Group Benefits Division you’re responsible for building a strong strategic operations plan with the infrastructure to support all aspects of the sales and service of our valued group benefits clients.
You ensure, thorough collaboration, teamwork and the selection and development of technically competent employees, strong client focus and satisfaction through the timely delivery of a quality end product. A deep understanding of what is needed to support sales and service success for our group benefits clients is critical to the success of this role.
This position reports to our Chief Operating Officer and is expected to be the expert and owner of our Group Benefits Division service and support functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategize and collaborate with all levels of sales and service functions to ensure the best client experience possible.
Develop and implement team goals and performance metrics to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
Encourage a culture of accountability and high performance within the team.
Overall management of a large service and support team including:
Recruitment
Onboarding
Training & Development
Performance Management
Engagement
Ensure effective and efficient business processes and procedures are in place, regularly evaluating and improving them to enhance overall performance.
Plan and support regular quality assurance audits and execute on any required corrective actions.
Develop and execute strategic workforce planning initiatives to align staffing levels with business needs and objectives.
Ensure proper provincial licensing as well as insurance company contracting is in place.
Collaborate with national and corporate resources to ensure cohesive and aligned efforts across the organization.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

A seasoned professional with 15+ years’ operational management experience in the employee benefits industry.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse, high-performing teams to achieve organizational goals and drive business success.
Possess an inquisitive nature and a drive for continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills - interpersonal, written and verbal.
Skilled at delegating, setting expectations, and monitoring progress of all direct reports.
Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and sets an example of professionalism for other employees.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting generating.
Valid Life License (LLQP) in the Province of British Columbia (or obtained within 6 months).
CEBS, CALU, CIM, and other designations preferred.

The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
