We are looking for a Principal Infoblox DDI Engineer with deep, hands‑on experience operating DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) in large enterprise or service provider environments. This role brings real‑world operational expertise into engineering to ensure our platform is designed for practical deployment, automation, and enterprise‑scale reliability. The ideal candidate has firsthand experience running DDI infrastructure in complex environments, with strong familiarity with Infoblox or similar DDI platforms, and understands the operational realities of managing critical network services at scale.
You will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, and Support to shape the evolution of Universal DDI, validated design decisions, and ensure our platform delivers exceptional operational outcomes for customers.
As the platform evolves, this role will also help drive the next generation of DDIOps—intelligent, automated operations for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM environments.
Be a Contributor — WhatYou’llDo
Providereal-world operational insight into the design and development of Universal DDI services
Ensure product capabilities align with how enterprises deploy, automate, secure, and operate DDI infrastructure at scale
Participate in architecture and design reviews to validate operability, reliability, automation readiness, and scalability
Act as an internal “Customer Zero” for Universal DDI, validating operational workflows and deployment models before product release
Recreate real‑world enterprise environments to test multi‑site, hybrid cloud, and multi‑realm DDI deployments
Validate automation workflows, API integrations, and operational tooling from the perspective of a real operator
Partner with engineering teams to define capabilities that enable AI‑assisted and automated DDI operations (DDIOps)
Collaborate with Product Management and Architecture to shape roadmap priorities based on real operational needs
Work with Support and Field Engineering to incorporate lessons learned from real customer deployments
Define best practices for automation, observability, reliability, and lifecycle management of modern DDI environments
Validate failure scenarios, scaling behavior, and operational recovery processes
Be Prepared — What You Bring
10 or more years of experience in operating DNS, DHCP, and IPAM infrastructure in enterprise, cloud, or service provider environments
Experience managing large‑scale distributed DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) deployments
Experience operating or integrating Infoblox or comparable enterprise DDI platforms
Deep expertise in DNS architecture and operations
Strong understanding of DHCP infrastructure and IP address management workflows
Experience with network automation, APIs, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices
Familiarity with hybrid and multi‑cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Ability to translate operational challenges into product improvements
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and customer‑facing teams
Passion for improving customer experience, reliability, and operational simplicity
