Join our team and what we'll accomplish together We’re the Experience Design team working within TELUS’ Transformation & Product Excellence group. We partner with product, marketing, engineering, and others to deliver products that balance business goals, technical realities, and user needs - helping TELUS create experiences that are consistent, scalable, and put customers first. At TELUS, user experience design is at the center of how we create world‑class digital experiences. As a Staff UX Designer, you'll step into a rare opportunity: tackling TELUS' most complex customer challenges while shaping strategies, systems, and standards that define how design drives customer and business impact. You will guide long‑term design strategies across multiple portfolios - partnering with product, content, and engineering leaders to shape end‑to‑end experiences and influence executive priorities to ensure UX strategy is embedded in critical business decisions. You'll define and scale design frameworks, systems, and governance models that raise design maturity across TELUS, while serving as a mentor and leader who drives innovation - helping practitioners grow their craft, navigate complexity, and embrace evolving design methodologies. This role places you at the forefront of transformation - accelerating the way TELUS plans, creates, and measures experiences by integrating AI into design workflows and evolving how teams approach user‑centered design. If you're looking for an opportunity to lead at scale, influence the future of UX design, and shape how millions of people connect with TELUS every day, this role is for you. What you will do Design Leadership: Drive strategy and thought leadership for high‑impact initiatives across multiple product domains. Build strong relationships across product, content, engineering, and senior leadership to foster collaboration and raise design maturity at TELUS. AI‑Driven Transformation: Lead the integration of AI into UX design workflows, evolving how teams approach design thinking and accelerating how TELUS plans, creates, and measures user experiences. What you bring Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, or related field. 7+ years leading large‑scale UX design initiatives in product‑driven organizations. A portfolio that demonstrates strategic impact and design leadership, not just deliverables. Technical & Strategic Expertise: Mastery of UX design principles, user research methodologies, design systems, and prototyping tools. Adept at data‑informed design decisions, information architecture, interaction design, and scaling design governance models. Executive Influence & Collaboration: Proven ability to partner with senior executives and cross‑functional leaders to shape priorities, secure alignment, and embed UX strategy into business decisions. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. AI & Emerging Tools: Hands‑on experience integrating AI and emerging technologies into design workflows to improve scalability, quality, and innovation in UX practices. Leadership & Mentorship: Track record of mentoring and developing UX practitioners, shaping design communities of practice, and elevating organizational design maturity. Skilled at helping others navigate complexity and adopt new design methodologies. Great to have: Change Leadership: Experience driving design transformation in large organizations - advocating for new design standards, integrating emerging tools, and helping teams adapt to evolving UX practices. Design Systems Expertise: Deep experience building and scaling design systems across complex digital ecosystems, with a portfolio that demonstrates consistency, efficiency, and impact at scale. Research & Content Integration: Familiarity with content strategy, UX writing principles, and research methods, with the ability to translate insights into scalable design solutions that work seamlessly with content.
