    We have an exciting permanent part time (0.50 FTE) opportunity for an experienced Neuropsychologist to join the Interior Health team located at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops, B.C.

    Who are we looking for?

    The successful applicant will join our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to provide neuropsychological assessments to inpatients receiving care for acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. The neuropsychologist would also provide consultation to the team to help inform cognitive rehabilitation, behavioural management strategies, and discharge planning. The neuropsychologist may support other areas of care at RIH according to caseload and interest.

    What will you work on?

    This position is responsible and accountable for providing specialized neuropsychological services, including assessment, individual and group therapy, treatment planning and behaviour management interventions for the assigned clinical practice area(s). In addition to direct service provision, the Neuropsychologist contributes to ongoing quality improvement, program development, evaluation, and research. The position supports a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to service delivery within the continuum of Allied Health services.

    Scheduling Information

    Shift types for this position are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday, Tuesday, and alternating Wednesday.

    Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.

    Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.

    In the summer of 2022, the Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Tower at RIH opened, signifying a new era for RIH, with a new main entrance and modern hospital tower with staff and services such as obstetrics, mental health & substance use, surgical services, rehabilitation, medical, neurosciences and trauma moving into the new tower.
