Island EHS is a Victoria based occupational hygiene consulting company. We provide services to a variety of clients including: · School Districts · Universities · Ship repair facilities · Developers · Abatement contractors We have an immediate need for a senior occupational hygienist. Responsibilities include the following: · Carry out sampling services for clients, including air quality and occupational hygiene work · Confined space assessments · Fungal investigations · Writing work procedures · Developing Exposure control plans · Infection control consulting · Training · Hazardous materials investigations · Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business · Ability to develop sampling strategies and complete work in a timely fashion Experience in the following areas will be beneficial: · Confined space assessments · Indoor air quality assessments · Infection control · Hazardous material surveys · Final visual inspections and hazmat clearance reports The successful candidate will have previous industrial hygiene experience, hazardous material investigation experience or a combination of Occupational Health and Safety/Hygiene education. A CIH, ROH or CRSP designation is not required but would be an asset. In addition, we require: · Excellent time management · Good client relations · Attention to detail · Organizational skills · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Technical writing skills · A valid driver’s license and the use of your own vehicle You must be legally qualified to work in Canada.
