Overall Responsibilities The Continuous Improvement Specialist will assist to build a culture centered around systematic problem solving, effective communication, efficient processes and structured training. The CI Specialist will work to reduce non-value added (Waste) processes in order to directly increase product value in terms of customer CTQ (Critical to Quality) requirements. Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties Application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology to process and quality improvement initiatives Facilitate on-the-floor improvement discovery sessions to identify productivity opportunities and engage employees in generating solutions Develop a curriculum for lean six sigma training and establish a culture of continued improvement Coach and mentor employees on key continuous improvement methodologies Host Kaizen improvement events and run the Kaizen program across multiple manufacturing sites Develop or facilitate programs to utilize and expand the use of lean tools such as A3 Template, Kaizen, Fishbone, Waste Walks, 5S and 5S Auditing Integrate new, or utilize existing real time data monitoring to develop and verify production standards and KPI. Build toward centralized monitoring of all Manufacturing processes. Review business processes to enhance effectiveness and eliminate waste Promote process awareness and understanding throughout the organization Implement and participate in SPQD Daily Management Multi Level meetings Work in compliance with the company’s Health and Safety Policies/ SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibility Procedure Identify target efficiencies and production costs Identify process efficiency improvement opportunities through the implementation of new technologies, improved methods, and optimized process flow within the facility Facilitate problem solving sessions with Company Employees using Continuous lmprovement tools and methodology Update and maintain relevant SOPs and Process Documentation Must be familiar with the following analysis techniques: Time studies, Process Mapping and Process Flow diagrams, Statistical Process Control methodology, Statistical Analysis tools, Project Management methodology, Continuous improvement methodology (Lean-Six Sigma) Exploring alternative/ new technologies that to improve the process, product or activity Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd facilities Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a pharmaceutical environment or similar GMP regulated environment. Post Secondary Education Required- Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics an asset Certification as Lean/ Six Sigma Green Belt (required) or higher Intimate knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and processes i.e. dispensing, blending, compressing, coating and encapsulation. Intimate knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging equipment and processes i.e. fillers, inserters, cappers, labelers, Case Packing/ Palletizer, cartoners and bundlers Knowledge of secondary processes affecting product release and manufacture i.e component testing and release, raw material and finished good release, procurement, finite and strategic planning Commensurate knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing control and record keeping. Strong data analysis skills as well as relevant software packages (Excel, MS Project, Minitab, etc) Knowledge of health, safety and ergonomics Up to 15% Travel may be required ???? For more information, please visit Overall Responsibilities The Strategic Procurement Category Manager plays a pivotal role in driving JWEL’s growth by enhancing sourcing strategies and supporting successful product launches. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers through strategic procurement initiatives. The Category Manager will lead the development and execution of procurement strategies, conduct in-depth analyses to identify productivity opportunities, and build data-driven business cases that balance brand, consumer, customer, and operational impacts. This role also involves benchmarking JWEL products against competitive offerings in collaboration with Commercial and Technical teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in nutraceutical ingredients and manufacturing, supplier development, and program management. They should thrive in a cross-functional team environment, demonstrate the ability to align stakeholders around complex initiatives, and be comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving organization. This role requires a highly analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting JWEL’s transition to a more sophisticated procurement function. Primary Responsibilities Ensure continuity of supply for third-party manufacturing. Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies. Lead supplier negotiations and implement supply agreements aligned with business goals. Resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues while maintaining strong supplier relationships. Monitor and negotiate supplier pricing agreements. Recommend and implement purchasing and inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and service. Identify cost improvement opportunities through product, supplier, or design changes. Conduct detailed cost analyses and support make-vs-buy decisions. Support and execute Procurement and corporate initiatives. Identify sources of supply for critical materials. Manage risks and issues related to product launch timelines. Facilitate stakeholder sessions to address and resolve key issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to ensure project milestones are met. Prepare and present project status reports and risk assessments to leadership. Lead data analysis, change management, and communication efforts for specific initiatives. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management on procurement investments and long-term goals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities University degree or equivalent experience. 5–8 years of experience in procurement, strategy, or business development. Strong project management and technical experience in a similar industry. Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization. Experience in supplier development and contract negotiation. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to manage complex data sets. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and database tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to influence and build relationships across functions. Skilled in continuous improvement and change/project management.
