    Requisition ID: req269 Location: Montreal, Canada Accountant Department: Finance / Accounting Role Purpose We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our finance operations and ensure accuracy across financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling balances, managing fixed assets, and supporting period-end closing and reporting activities. The Accountant will collaborate with internal stakeholders and the broader accounting team to provide financial insights, streamline processes, and uphold compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with Canadian financial standards, and experience within large multinational organizations. Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel is highly valued, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage general ledger activities across multiple Canadian entities and renewable‑energy project, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts. Lead complex account reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial reviews, escalating issues and proposing corrective actions Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and activities, ensuring timely submission of high quality financial data for global consolidation. Ensure compliance with accounting controls, company policies, and procedures. Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, reconciliations and various financial reports and statements for internal or external use. Review and approve general ledger accounts within purchase orders. Collaborate with tax, treasury, FP&A, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial information and support business decision‑making. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred but not required). CPA qualification (preferred but not required) Fluent in French and English Experience & Technical Skills 3–7 years of relevant accounting experience (preferred). Strong knowledge of Canadian financial standards (preferred). Experience with large multinational companies (preferred). Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or other large ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills (preferred). Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. Responsabilités clés Gérer les activités du grand livre pour plusieurs entités canadiennes et projets d’énergie renouvelable, en veillant à l’exactitude et à l’exhaustivité des informations financières. Tenir à jour les dossiers financiers et les comptes du grand livre général. Diriger des rapprochements de comptes complexes, des analyses des écarts et des revues financières; transmettre les enjeux et proposer des mesures correctives. Superviser les processus et activités de clôture mensuels, trimestriels et annuels, en assurant la transmission en temps opportun de données financières de haute qualité pour la consolidation mondiale. Veiller au respect des contrôles comptables, ainsi que des politiques et procédures de la Société Préparer et réviser les écritures de journal, les calendriers de soutien, les rapprochements et divers rapports et états financiers destinés à un usage interne ou externe. Examiner et approuver les imputations au grand livre général liées aux bons de commande (BC). Collaborer avec les équipes de Fiscalité, de Trésorerie, de FP&A et d’Opérations afin d’assurer l’exactitude de l’information financière et de soutenir la prise de décision d’affaires. Éducation et certifications Baccalauréat en comptabilité, finance ou administration des affaires (désiré, mais pas obligatoire). Titre de CPA (désiré, mais pas obligatoire) Maîtrise de l'anglais et du français Expérience et compétences techniques 3 à 7 ans d'expérience pertinente (désiré). Solide connaissance des normes financières canadiennes (désiré). Expérience avec de grandes multinationales (désiré). Maîtrise de SAP, Microsoft Dynamics ou d'autres grands systèmes ERP, et compétences avancées en Excel (désiré).
