Role and Objectives: The Health and Safety Manager, reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive range of employee health and safety programs and services to meet the goals and legal obligations of Kalesnikoff. These functions include, but may not be limited to, the assessment, facilitation and evaluation of injury prevention, environmental safety, occupational health and safety, employee and family wellness and the development, implementation, and consultation on safety policies. The Health and Safety Manager oversees all activities of the Occupational Health and Safety department and provides advice to management and employees.
Responsibilities: Plan, develop, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and update Kalesnikoff's occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Develop annual health and safety plans for the company based on a full review of health and safety-related needs (assessment of hazards, analysis of database, audits, changing legislation and best practices) as required by the Ministry of Labour. Review occupational health and safety legislation, amendments, and best practices to optimize occupational health and safety programs. Provide all levels of the company with advice related to health and safety matters, legislative requirements, and best practices in the field. Assist in representing management in matters of health and safety with the government, health and safety associations and other outside agencies and organizations. Provide management with reports on WSBC incidents and injuries, lost time injuries, health-related absenteeism and other occupational health and safety information. Effectively manage return to work programs, working closely with the employee, his/her supervisors, and the insurance company to ensure the employee's safety and health, as well as ensuring that he or she receives all the benefits he or she is entitled to . Role and Objectives: The PLC Controls Specialist, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLC) and control systems for a variety of automation processes. This role requires an in-depth understanding of PLC systems, electrical circuits, and industrial control equipment. You will work closely with leadership, technicians, and other team members to ensure the optimal performance of automated systems and equipment.
Responsibilities: Design, program, and implement PLC-based control systems for industrial automation. Develop and modify control programs using PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, and control equipment. Install, configure, and maintain PLC hardware and software systems. Role and Objectives: The CNC Programmer, reporting to the CNC Manager, will be responsible for maintaining and developing programming for machining operations. The CNC Programmer will write and implement programming to improve the efficiency of production as well as the quality of finished products. This individual will utilize blueprints, CAD software, engineering schematics and other specifications in order to determine machine sequences and subsequently develop efficient programming. The CNC Programmer will also observe machines and product output to detect malfunctions or irregularities and adjust the program as required to ensure quality of production is maintained.
Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures. Study blueprints and computer-aided drafting (CAD) software of products to be produced to determine programming needs. Study and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements. Determine machining operations, the sequence in which machining operations must be carried out, and the time required to finish the job to efficiently manufacture the product. Based upon specifications, write programs to accomplish the various machining operations as per the determined sequence and dimensions of the finished product. Provide assistance in planning the production cycle in order to set and achieve optimal production targets. Ensure all CNC programming written is in accordance with production blueprints and quality standards. Provide assistance to CNC operators in setting up new programs. Prior to full implementation, put machinery through test runs to ensure programming is working effectively. Note discrepancies between blueprint specifications and test products as they arise and provide resolution through program adjustment. Continually maintain the CNC programming database. Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems, consulting with manufacturer as necessary. Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications. Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues. Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to identify areas of inefficiency. Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with provincial and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations. Works as relief operator if needed Support the CNC operators with tool maintenance. Other duties as required.
Requirements: Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field preferred. Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining. Journeyman / Red Seal CNC Machinist certification preferred. 5 or more years' experience in CNC programming in a manufacturing setting considered an asset. Ability to edit existing programs as well as test new programming. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules. Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Accurate and highly analytical. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude High School Diploma, or equivalent GED, etc. Experience in Timber Framing, Fine Woodworking, Cabinet Making or other woodworking skills, an asset. Ability to use measuring devices, such as (but not limited to) tape measure both imperial and metric, calipers.

Role and Objectives: The Health and Safety Manager, reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive range of employee health and safety programs and services to meet the goals and legal obligations of Kalesnikoff. These functions include, but may not be limited to, the assessment, facilitation and evaluation of injury prevention, environmental safety, occupational health and safety, employee and family wellness and the development, implementation, and consultation on safety policies. The Health and Safety Manager oversees all activities of the Occupational Health and Safety department and provides advice to management and employees.
Responsibilities: Plan, develop, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and update Kalesnikoff's occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Develop annual health and safety plans for the company based on a full review of health and safety-related needs (assessment of hazards, analysis of database, audits, changing legislation and best practices) as required by the Ministry of Labour. Review occupational health and safety legislation, amendments, and best practices to optimize occupational health and safety programs. Provide all levels of the company with advice related to health and safety matters, legislative requirements, and best practices in the field. Assist in representing management in matters of health and safety with the government, health and safety associations and other outside agencies and organizations. Provide management with reports on WSBC incidents and injuries, lost time injuries, health-related absenteeism and other occupational health and safety information. Coordinate and/or provide guidance and direction to occupational health and safety personnel. Effectively manage return to work programs, working closely with the employee, his/her supervisors, and the insurance company to ensure the employee's safety and health, as well as ensuring that he or she receives all the benefits he or she is entitled to. Provide advice and guidance to managers and supervisors to return injured employees (as soon as possible) to productive work following an injury. Investigate accidents thoroughly and effectively, and then respond appropriately as required, including communicating to, training, and following up with supervisors and employees. Ensure that work refusals are properly investigated and that any necessary corrections to the work processes are implemented and documented. Liaise with WSBC and insurance providers on all claims, including managing appeals where appropriate. Develop, arrange, and present safety orientation and training for all new employees, existing employees, and visitors to ensure complete and effective understanding of potential risks and expected behaviours within the company. Develop a matrix for training requirements, maintain records of all health and safety-related training and assist in the development of rollout programs. Lead an annual health and safety program audit to ensure the effectiveness of occupational health and safety programs. Develop and manage internal health and safety audits of the company, including risk assessments, at varying levels, and act as a trainer/advisor to internal auditors. Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational health and safety activities within various departments Coordinate health and safety supplies by ensuring appropriate supplies are identified and purchased in a timely and cost-effective manner and used appropriately. Monitor, amend and update the organization's Health and Safety Handbook Support and promote occupational health, wellness, and safety department initiatives.
