The Role KGS Group is looking for an experienced Archaeologist to join our growing Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment Department. The successful applicant will be an up-and-coming technical leader, or current leader in your field with the drive to participate in a growing dynamic environmental team! Your Key Responsibilities: Acting as a field director and recognized by the Ontario Archaeology Program Unit. Supervise the completion of Stage 2 archaeological fieldwork following the methods and ethics set out in the OntarioStandards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists (2011). Conduct basic archaeological fieldwork tasks (pedestrian survey, test pitting, documentation) Supervise small crews of 4-6 people as they carry out Stage 2 archaeological tasks and ensure their quality of work meets the methods and ethics set out in the OntarioStandards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists (2011). Work with the project management team to help coordinate fieldwork planning and logistics. Communicate and work with Indigenous community groups. Ensure adherence to KGS Group health and safety policies and codes of conduct. About You To fill the role, we’re looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experience. Some highlights could include: Must hold an Archaeological License in good standing as issued by the Government of Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport; (either an Applied Research License (R-License) or Professional License (P-License). 1+ year of experience directing others in archaeological field methods. Able to work in outdoor environments for extended periods of time, involving moderate to difficult hiking conditions in a variety of weather conditions. Driver’s license. The Role KGS Group seeks someone with a strong interest in proposals to join our Business Development System & Pursuits (BDSP) group as a Proposal Coordinator. In this integral role, you will have the opportunity to work within a skilled team to produce high quality proposals / fee estimates, and other business development materials, in a timely and efficient manner. In this role you will be a key member of the core pursuit team, and as Proposal Coordinator, you will: Responsible for coordinating the bid preparation process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all proposal submissions. Here are some ideal qualifications for this role: 2 to 3 years of direct proposal experience. Working knowledge of the Canadian A/E/C market. Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint / OneDrive, Teams). Mandatory: advanced Microsoft Word user. Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong detail orientation. Self-motivated and driven to manage own workflow / outputs. The Role In this role, you will support a range of municipal engineering projects from the proposal stage through to completion. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in the structural field, working alongside a group of senior engineers working on multi-discipline projects in our Buildings & Spaces and Industrial markets. Responsibilities In this role, you’ll manage structural design of multi-discipline projects from the proposal stage through to completion, including establishment and maintenance of budgets and schedules. You will provide structural design of small to large commercial and industrial projects. Work in a team environment with our other structural department personnel, management and administrative staff, you will prepare tender and construction documents or reports. Assist in preparing large multi-discipline proposals and prepare structural specific proposals You will prepare technical reports and presentations. As an intermediate member of our structural team, you’ll also mentor junior staff and manage support personnel as required. About You Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering specializing in structural design from a recognized university. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural engineering with demonstrated technical (analysis, code and regulations reviews, design calculations, technical report writing) and project management skills (writing project progress reports, tracking budgets and maintaining schedules). Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Must be registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (Registration in other Canadian provinces or US states would be an additional asset). The Role In this role, you will support a range of municipal engineering projects from the proposal stage through to completion. Your mission will be to strengthen our team, helping ensure project objectives, schedules, and budgets are met. On any given day, you'll have the opportunity to interface directly with clients that include major urban centers, municipalities, First Nations, provincial agencies, federal organizations, and private industry. All of this will take place in a collaborative work environment where you will work together with other disciplines to get the job done. Depending on your personal career path, you will focus on design development or take on project management responsibilities, under the leadership of our senior engineers. Opportunities will continue to be provided to expand your knowledge and you will participate in larger municipal infrastructure projects catered to your interests. Key Responsibilities Prepare designs, drawings, and specifications for a variety of infrastructure projects including storm, sanitary systems, water distribution systems, storm detention ponds, force mains, lift stations, and site grading. Prepare associated design reports, studies, and contract documents. Lead the municipal projects as the Project Manager to communicate with the client, subconsultants, contractors and ensure quality deliverables, budgets and schedules are met. Participate in proposals and expressions of interest considering the methodology for undertaking potential projects. Provide on-site construction administration support and inspection of active projects. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams from initial conceptualization through to final completion. Communicate with clients, contractors, utilities, agencies, and stakeholders. Support contract administration of construction assignments. About You Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution P.Eng. /E.I.T. designation, or eligible for registration as Professional Engineer/EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia Minimum 8 working years of experience in Municipal Engineering and/or Water Resource Engineering Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills Ability to work independently Ability to visit remote project sites Experience supporting the planning, design, and implementation of various civil projects Experience in all or most of the following areas: water supply, treatment & distribution, wastewater collection & treatment, stormwater management, municipal servicing, and land development, site grading Familiarity with AutoCAD & Civil 3D Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability/willingness to undergo security clearance checks Experience assets include: Knowledge of storm and water hydraulic modeling using software such as PCSWMM, XPSWM, Infoworks, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, WaterCad, etc. Familiarity with relevant municipal and guidance documents What we offer?
