  • Ruminant Business Consultant  

    - Winchester

    Our client is a well-established agricultural input supplier in Eastern Ontario that provides complete, high-quality service to farms in the region. The company has recently expanded its operations to include multiple retail locations and increased milling capacity to service a larger market with crop inputs and livestock feed and nutrition. As a Ruminant Business Consultant, working with the Customer Service and Sales teams, you will primarily visit farms to discuss business objectives, herd management and ruminant nutrition. This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated agriculture professional to provide quality advice to producers while also selling a high-quality portfolio of livestock feed and nutrition products.
    Reporting to the General Manager, you will:
    Conduct farm visits to collect samples, ensure customer satisfaction, and provide product consultations on livestock feed. Perform cold calling and follow-up to generate new business and respond to customer inquiries and provide solutions, serving as a liaison between customers and management. Formulate new rations and update current ones as requested and provide technical support to the sales team with expertise in dairy, beef, and small ruminant species. Enhance customer relationships by providing advice on livestock performance and feed formulations and collaborate with the nutrition team to update product specs and tags. Support new product development through customer feedback and market research and maintain and update product knowledge and participate in training sessions. Assist in nutrition training for the sales team and field trial experiments. Organize and maintain a database of product, customer, and research data. Support quality assurance and quality control programs for feed formulations. Represent the company at industry events and knowledge transfer sessions.

    Your background includes:
    A BSc focused on animal nutrition or animal health, particularly in dairy cows and/or beef cattle. 4+ years of industry experience in a technical role focused on dairy, beef, and small ruminant species nutrition, with an understanding of dairy management in Canada is an asset. Knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and crop inputs such as fertilizer and soil testing. An autonomous, solutions driven professional paired with a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively both as an individual and as part of a team. Experience with feed formulation software programs (e.g., Brill).

    This is a work from home opportunity that requires travel in Eastern Ontario (50-60%) to visit customers, attend industry events, trade shows, and team meetings when required.

The new Corporate Controller will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.     Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will: Manage the accounting operations of various companies, including multiple greenhouses and other smaller agri-businesses. Oversee, maintain, and report from a system of accounting systems, comprehensive controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, and ensure accuracy of reported financial results to ensure they comply with GAAP. Produce interim, quarterly and annual financial statements, and financial/business case analyses as required. Manage and maintain a documented system of internal accounting policies and procedures. Manage outsourced accounting relationships and banking functions, while providing leadership to the accounting staff. Work with the Company’s leadership team to evaluate and design an organizational structure to achieve and track Company goals and objectives and recommend benchmarks to measure the Company’s performance. Oversee company transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, chart of accounts, accounting files, and transaction controls. Manage company reporting, including financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and financial analyses for investments, pricing, and contracts. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information including customer date, financial records and internal company strategies. Ensure compliance by managing annual reviews with external accounting firms, monitoring debt levels against financial covenants, and overseeing government reporting and tax filing requirements.
    Your background includes: 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a financial/accounting position. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent. CPA designation preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and organizational skills. Excellent financial acumen and experience using financial reporting software and ERPs (e.g. Sage 300). Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work closely with the senior management team. A desire to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing industry-related publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

A Swine Specialist supports livestock producers by improving farm operations and profitability through innovative hygiene and animal health solutions. This role is critical in promoting sustainable practices and reducing reliance on antibiotics within swine production. As a key member of a collaborative team, you will provide technical support, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to the growth of their Ontario operations.
    Reporting to the Sales Director, you will:
    Work directly with livestock producers to address on-farm challenges, improve farm operations, and promote hygiene and animal health solutions. Increase adoption of hygiene-focused concepts, clean water practices, and preventive health products among swine producers to reduce antibiotic reliance. Collaborate with customer service teams, product specialists, and the Monogastric Nutrition team to deliver comprehensive support to customers. Generate leads and strengthen customer relationships by participating in joint farm visits, technical product demonstrations, and collaborative sales efforts. Build expertise in product categories, including water care, sanitation systems, and barn cleaning solutions, with a focus on delivering practical, on-farm benefits. Promote the use of service plans to ensure customer access to leased equipment and consumable products for optimal farm performance. Oversee equipment installations, such as sanitation systems and dosing pumps, and perform basic troubleshooting or maintenance as needed. Plan and execute a dynamic schedule, balancing on-farm visits, sales planning, and introductory customer calls to maximize territory coverage. Represent the business at trade shows and industry events, fostering new connections and enhancing brand visibility. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and analyze customer data to identify growth opportunities and improve sales strategies.
    Your background includes:
    Demonstrated sales experience with a customer-focused mindset. Strong interest in livestock farming, animal health, and learning about agricultural products.
