Assistant Buyer - Livestock Responsible to: Buying Manager Department: Buying Location: Vancouver HQ or Toronto Salary: 50-60K This role is for someone with a passion for streetwear, sneaker culture, footwear designs and contemporary fashion. This position has broad responsibilities and would be best suited to someone who enjoys being entrepreneurial and part of a small team. Key Duties/Responsibilities: Item creation at the beginning of the season, and item management thereafter. PO creation and management, often liaising with brands to ensure on time delivery. Work with shipping providers to investigate delays. Liaise with stores and DC to manage PO issues. Monitors and manage product releases for on time delivery and communicates this to the buyer and the marketing team. Assist the Buyer in managing the buying process from product selection to delivery. Prepare and analyze sales and performance reports to inform future buys. Works closely with the buyer to ensure on time delivery of the seasonal buy and communicates promptly when there is a delay. Track deliveries, order confirmations, and ensure product info is accurate across systems. Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed: 2-3 years in retail or ecommerce store sales. Exceptional communication skills: oral, visual, written. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience using excel, including pivot tables. Must be a team player and look to work collaboratively. Must be passionate about products and have a strong knowledge of streetwear.

This position has broad responsibilities and would be best suited to someone who enjoys being entrepreneurial and part of a small team. This role is planned to have one direct report. Key Duties/Responsibilities: Works cross-functionally with Planner, Allocator to set assortment, implement strategy, manage open to buy and place re-orders. Assortment selection, flow, life cycle and distribution across multiple channels and locations with footwear, apparel and accessories. Create, implement, and report on seasonal merchandising strategy. Works with marketing to create a product marketing plan that drives traffic and generates excitement. Understands how to balance the needs of the consumer, the brand, and the company. Actively searches for new brands and products that will protect the company’s top tier position within the marketplace. In partnership with the Planner, manages sell through, markdowns, and exit channels for all products within the portfolio. Analyze and report on weekly, monthly, and seasonal performance. Meets or exceeds sales, margin, and inventory targets. Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed: 4+ years of experience as a Buyer or Merchant in a multi-brand retailer. 2+ years of experience in retail sales. Experience working in footwear and fashion is required. Exceptional communication skills: oral, visual, written. Experience using excel, including pivot tables.
