    Position Summary Facilities engineering is a very diverse field that incorporates elements of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, as well as construction, building systems, contract, and energy management. The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual who thrives on continuous change and lifelong learning, and who sets and adjusts project priorities daily.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Lead technical cross-functional teams to define facility and equipment project criteria.

    Produce AutoCAD layout options to ensure equipment functionality and maximize effective and efficient usage of floor space.

    Develop engineering specifications for equipment acquisitions, perform facility renovations/construction, supply mechanical/electrical services, install foundations, and obtain team approval prior to tender period.

    Arrange equipment supplier meetings with consultants to permit experts from each group to transfer crucial design data, questions, and requirements.

    Coordinate architectural and engineering activities during developmental phases from preliminary to final drawings for construction to ensure efficient and proper designs.

    Liaise with Purchasing and Suppliers to ensure that acquisitions lead times are appropriate and effectively priced and that tender questions are addressed in a timely manner.

    Review proposals technically to demonstrate specification compliance.

    Coordinate, supervise and manage contractor on-site activities.

    Position Requirements

    Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized University.

    A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

    Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to deliver multiple tasks to set schedules with minimal supervision.

    Ability to think and solve problems efficiently and independently.

    Process Engineering Specialist

    will be responsible for providing technical support for all programs requiring special processes (welding, heat treat, chemical processing, non-conventional machining, NDT, composites); preparing and maintaining Company documentation controlling special processes; train/qualify/certify special process operators; and acting as a prime contact for applicable internal and external special process audits. Essential Responsibilities Providing material and support services pertaining to special processes required to meet customer requirements. Providing analysis of results from applicable test methods (Mechanical & NDT). Providing technical assistance in the preparation and development of operating procedures. Reviewing customer specifications and preparing technical documents related to process control and mechanical testing. Acting as the process focal for customer and external 3rd party (NADCAP) audits to attain & maintain process qualifications. Providing Process Improvement support / Continuous Improvement. Providing MRB support / failure analysis and preparing repair procedures per customer requirements. Establishing operator qualifications for special processes per customer requirements.     Position Summary Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for an Operations Excellence - Engineer. The purpose of this position is to combine a technical background with a keen desire to identify and facilitate Operational Excellence projects across MAM.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Research Industry for best practices and investigate process improvements including automation by analyzing manufacturing processes and plant layout. Review needs and suggestions with operators, production supervisors, and manager and maintenance personnel.

    Work with engineering to design and implement solutions.

    Work with engineering to document and finalize work instructions for revised / improved processes

    Perform analysis on current work centers and operations to identify potential weaknesses, NVA activities with the goal to develop standard approach to work center optimization with an emphasis on tech involvement and shortening standard hours, definition, and analysis of options to implementation of permanent corrective measures.

    Interfaces with all company departments to resolve process-related problems.

    Working with cross functional teams, as applicable, to provide training for improved processes.

    Writing technical reports, maintaining open issues list, and communicating confidently to all levels of the business, both by written and verbal means.

    Publish Key Performance Indicators for operational, and divisional reviews. Facilitate development of recovery plan as required.

    Work with Maintenance department to facilitate introduction of a new machine and equipment to ensure timely development of PM program, spare parts list and zero interruption to regular production

    Position Requirements

    Degree in mechanical, materials metallurgy or industrial engineering

    3 to 5 years’ experience in Aerospace Manufacturing is an asset

    Working knowledge of AS9100 / 9110 is an asset

    Highly organized with strong Project Management skills

    Position Summary The Sr. NC Programmer will be responsible for compiling CNC programs on CAD/CAM systems for lathes and 3 and 5 axis milling machines; as well as preparing associated documentation and program/tool proving. This position will play an important role in the initiation, development and execution of new and existing programs as well as continuous improvements efforts related to machining operations and processes.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Strong background in machining, primarily in milling and turning, and cutting tool technology. Experience with die sinker EDM, laser, and water jet cutting is considered an asset.

    Creating and maintaining part programs for all types of numerical control applications, taking into consideration such factors as machining parameters, cutter selections and control limitations, while ensuring that the design intent and component quality are achieved.

    Demonstrated ability using CAD/CAM systems related to NC machining;

    Strong experience with Siemens NX software is a requirement. Experience with Catia V4 or V5, Vericut simulation proving, and ICAM Postprocessor Software considered an asset.

    Completion of a mechanical or engineering technologist diploma, or red seal machinist, or CNC machining technology diploma, together with computer-aided numerical control programming and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or 5-10 years relevant practical experience.
