  • Senior Electrical Engineer

Located in Dundas, Ontario, we work and play in the GTAH, London and Niagara markets.
    Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, you are highly organized and detail oriented. You will work with senior designers and engineers from multiple disciplines to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design of institutional, industrial, commercial and healthcare facilities, as well as, a thorough understanding of the Ontario engineering market. This role will offer significant growth potential.
    RESPONSIBILITIES Co-ordinate project requirements with all team members, in all disciplines, as required Prepare contract drawings, schedules, details and sketches from conceptual design through to tender and construction Oversee junior engineers, designers and drafting staff for the preparation of documents Ensure that document quality follows company standards Provide advisory services and presentations to existing and prospective clients. Work independently and apply prescriptive requirements of electrical building services engineering codes with minimal supervision Meet project timelines and budgets Perform detailed site take-offs of existing building systems and conduct routine site reviews Construction Administration co-ordination, review and issuance of Change Orders, Clarifications and RFI responses as required Other related duties as assigned
    REQUIREMENTS Minimum 5 years of experience in the preparation and design of engineering drawings using appropriate standards for power, emergency power, fire alarm, lighting, telecommunications, security, public address and nurse call systems Demonstrated understanding of construction protocols and processes and a proven ability to interpret drawings and specifications Familiarity with standards such as CAN/ULC-S524, CSA Z32, CSA C282 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Desire for ongoing professional development Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Registration with the Professional Engineers of Ontario as a licensed professional engineer PMP designation is desired, but is not required Valid driver’s license

    SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
    Mantecon Partners is an agile, full-service engineering firm specializing in structural, mechanical, electrical, civil engineering and project management. Our staff are passionate, innovative and engaged professionals who take pride in providing our services on engineering projects across the province. Located in Dundas, Ontario, we work and play in the GTA, London and Niagara markets.
    Working with our multi-disciplinary team, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of North American experience, working with/managing project teams on the civil design of institutional, healthcare, commercial and industrial facilities.
    ROLE OVERVIEW
    Reporting to the firm principals, the Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for the overall development, leadership and management of civil engineering projects in our Dundas office. The candidate actively markets, leads, directs, and manages projects from initial conception through completion to ultimately ensure client and project team success.
    REQUIREMENTS
    Experience designing watermains, stormwater (including stormwater management reports for site plan approval application) and sanitary sewer systems Experience designing grading plans Experience with culvert studies Experience with municipal road and highway design is an asset Experience with site plan application and permit process including meeting with city staff Identify, pursue and secure civil engineering projects in the GTHA region – occasional travel is required Demonstrated experience coordinating and liaising with architects, planners, structural and mechanical engineers, street lighting designers, surveyors, city staff and other related professionals who may be part of a project team Coordinate and manage the work of sub-consultants as needed on project specific requirements Project Management for the civil engineering team and related sub-consultants including management of overall project budgets, project team staffing, scheduling and customer interface Solicit and obtain approval from our customers of all project requirements, programs, goals, objectives and expectations prior to preparing deliverables at milestone dates and effectively advise project team accordingly Confirm customer schedules and budgets and structure the team effort to assure compliance with the contracted fees, schedule and hourly targets Monitor applicable project team hours for accuracy and time effectiveness and ensure the project team is accountable both for budget hours and schedule as well as the specific goals of the customer Coordinate, monitor and review for completeness of all construction budgets and cost estimates Coordinate and/or conduct construction administration activities based on project scope and fees Complete final project closeout for customer as well as project team Oversee conformance to the firm’s quality management system (quality assurance, coordination and customer service) Assist and support in development of the civil engineering team including interviewing, hiring and training new staff Mentor staff in a motivational environment and conduct professional development and performance reviews Valid driver’s license QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor degree in civil and/or environmental engineering Designation as Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Ontario Minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting engineering or municipal environment, preferably in Ontario. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset Experience with stormwater management software (SWMHYMO), Excel, Microsoft Office, Civil 3D (AutoCAD and asset), traffic maneuvering software Proven business development capabilities Strong project management skills combined with experience in roadway, sewer, water and site/subdivision design, stormwater management, environmental assessments and technical report writing Excellent verbal and written communication skills for regular interaction with customers and design team Excellent management and supervisory skills for the development of the civil engineering team Excellent work ethic and desire to grow a successful civil engineering practice
