    Key ResponsibilitiesLead or support capital adequacy reporting under regulatory frameworks (e.g., LICAT or equivalent).Oversee Financial Condition Testing (FCT), enterprise-wide stress testing, and ORSA-related analysis.Develop and enhance capital forecasting methodologies and stress testing frameworks.Analyze capital sensitivities and risk drivers, providing insight into the organization’s risk profile.Partner with cross-functional teams including Risk, Finance, Valuation, and Product to support capital planning and risk assessment.Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on capital strategy.Contribute to model validation, methodology enhancements, and governance documentation.Present findings and capital insights to senior leadership.
    QualificationsASA / FSA / FCIA (or near qualification)5+ years of life insurance actuarial experienceStrong exposure to capital management, stress testing, or risk modelingExperience with regulatory capital frameworks (e.g., LICAT)Strong analytical and communication skillsPrior mentorship or project leadership experience is an asset

    MasterHill Talent is partnering with a leading life insurer to hire an experienced actuary to support IFRS17 financial reporting and valuation oversight within a high-performing actuarial team.This role offers strong visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to drive reporting improvements, business insights, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
    Key Responsibilities
    Lead and enhance IFRS17 financial reporting processes Analyze and interpret EBS results, identifying areas for improvement and optimization Support quarterly valuation cycles and financial reporting deliverables Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting efficiency projects Contribute to experience studies and other special actuarial projects Support regulatory filings and audit requests Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, risk, pricing, and senior stakeholders Present technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences
    Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline FSA / FCIA (or near completion preferred) 5+ years of actuarial experience in valuation or financial reporting Strong understanding of IFRS17 and financial reporting frameworks Experience with actuarial modelling tools (AXIS or similar preferred) Programming knowledge (Python, SQL, SAS, R, VBA) is an asset Strong analytical and communication skills
