The Product Manager will report to the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and will be responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of several product roadmaps. This position will be the driving force behind various software products, guiding their development from conception to launch and beyond, while ensuring value is delivered to both customers and the business.
The Product Manager will create and manage the product backlog in an agile SDLC, providing expertise in user and market research, strategic business analysis, requirements elicitation and facilitation. The Product Manager will motivate and organize teams to ensure product vision alignment and a thorough understanding of the deliverables.
This position involves collaborating with various departments and external partners and requires an independent self-starter to dream up new ideas and get them across the finish line. The successful candidate will be able to develop and communicate the visionary strategy but also requires ‘roll-up-your-sleeves execution’.
Responsibilities:Define the product vision in collaboration with various stakeholders and act as the “messenger of the market” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization.Articulate what the product should achieve and how it aligns with the company's objectives.Develop a multi-year roadmap for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future.Gather, translate, and prioritize requirements into product features and product functionality.Elicit requirements using a variety of formats and techniques including interviews, document analysis, workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists and competitive product analysis.Create User Stories and manage the product backlog.Lead sprint planning sessions to clarify the details of the sprint items and provide clear and concise acceptance criteria for user stories.Work with Development Teams throughout the software development lifecycle to provide guidance, clarification, and support to ensure that the product is being built according to requirements and timelines.Participate in product testing and validation to ensure that the final product meets quality standards and fulfills user needs.Monitor key metrics such as user engagement, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction to inform future decisions and improvements.Manage the entire product line life cycle from sunsetting legacy products to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas.
Qualifications:7+ years of experience in a software development environment in an agile environment, owning and managing product backlog and releases in a matrixed environment.7+ years of marketing, development, sales, or product management experience.Product Management certification is an asset.Tech savvy and passionate about building products.Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.Comfortable using collaboration and tools such as MS Azure.Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.Experience with budgeting and financial analysis.Knowledge of user centric design and innovation.Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles.Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups.Excellent people and management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.Subject matter expert/industry experience a strong plus.Strong problem solving and analytical skills to identify and validate customer needs; lead requirements/stakeholder analysis and verification; conduct impact analysis.Communication skills, both oral and written to elicit customer requirements; collaborate with other teams; develop communications plan for stakeholders to ensure buy-in.Strong interpersonal, fact finding and interviewing skills.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills and the ability to quickly shift priorities and adapt to changes to meet organizational and department requirements.MBA preferred.
