    3D Mechanical Designer - SolidWorks Skid-Mounted Process Systems
    Join a fast-paced and growing design/build environment focused on delivering high-performance custom process systems for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Designer with strong SolidWorks skills to help bring complex, skid-mounted systems from concept to fabrication. As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into practical, fabrication-ready designs that meet exacting industry standards.
    Responsibilities: Create detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for skid-mounted process systems, piping layouts, structural frames, and equipment assemblies using SolidWorks. Modify and update existing designs and drawings to meet evolving project requirements. Design and document structural, mechanical, and pneumatic components including pressure vessels, pumps, blowers, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, and instrumentation. Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation to support procurement and manufacturing teams. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with customer specifications. Support proposal and bid preparation by contributing to technical specifications and layouts. Participate in system reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and troubleshoot design-related issues during fabrication or commissioning as needed.
    Requirements: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of experience designing mechanical systems using SolidWorks, ideally within custom equipment or process industries. Strong working knowledge of piping systems, skid fabrication, and industrial components. Experience with design of pressure-rated components and sanitary process equipment is an asset. Proficient in reading P&IDs, engineering specifications, and technical schematics. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimate packages, conducting thorough take-offs, coming up with accurate manpower estimates and preparing technical summary reports for management. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform specialized Civil Engineering tasks such as SOE, ground improvement, dewatering, piling, soil or rock anchors, soil grouting, earthwork, backfill, grading, etc. for all locations.     Our client is an established lighting manufacturer who is looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join their team in Richmond Hill.
    Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful candidate will manage the execution and timely completion of engineering projects by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications; establishing test programs for product investigations; analyzing test programs for adequacy and sequence; examining samples for compliance with company requirements, applicable safety and performance standards. You will also be required to assist in the development of company products, test methods, and test equipment.
    Role and Responsibilities:
    Determining project scope related to product safety and performance certification; developing a preliminary plan of investigation; and determining project specification such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing third party lab input, available supplemental data, and product construction. Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at NRTL/NVLAP labs. Establishing appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information (BOM), examining samples and applying company requirements and industry standards. Notify upper management of any areas in which the product is not in compliance or of any changes in project scope or specifications in order to comply or exceed minimum requirements.     Qualifications:

Knowledge of UL/CSA safety standards related to luminaires, Electrical and Building Codes (i.e. Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, ANSI). Hands on experience in lighting product testing in compliance with ESTAR, DLC and California Energy Commission requirements. Excellent working knowledge in ISO17025 environment. Knowledge of product safety concepts and recognized methods and tools. Have functional knowledge of international safety & quality standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, ISO etc.).
