  • Monarch House is a child development centre providing seamless services to families impacted with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental delays. If you are passionate about helping children and youth communicate to the best of their ability and enhancing their relationships while maximizing their quality of life, this is your chance to work with an interdisciplinary team to reach your goals. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) at Monarch House your primary responsibility is implementing interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental delays and/or motor delays. Your role of Occupational Therapy Assistant is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by a Registered Occupational Therapist to clients in care of Monarch House. The Assistant will work within an interdisciplinary team while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment. Job Type: Part-time
    Salary: From $23.00 per hour

    Weekly Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 1PM - 7PM Wednesday, 9AM - 7PM Saturday, 9AM - 5PM Take an inside look at what you will do each day:Communication with family/client and supervisor on session progress Implementation of treatment plans based on best practices. Prepares teaching materials and organizes teaching environment Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety of the client while under their care Responsible to track client progress through the collection of data and graphing while keeping clients engaged Here is what you will need to be successfulPost-secondary course work in Occupational Therapy.     As an Occupational Therapist (OT) on our team you are responsible for developing programs that enable individuals to participate, to their fullest level, in activities that occupy their daily lives. Your client-base will consist of children (age 2-18) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Job Types: part-time and full-time roles available with the option of a 4-day or 3-day work week Salary: $80,000-$102,000.00 per year Work setting: Center-based in Langley
    Take an inside look at what you will do each day: Assess client needs and family priorities as part of an interdisciplinary team Complete assessments using tools such as standardized tests, criterion or curriculum referenced materials, or checklists Develop and implement a treatment plan for each client, based on assessment results Develop reports as required Consult to Behaviour Analysts who supervise Applied Behaviour Analysis Programs for Children with ASD and other needs Work collaboratively with the family and other community professionals Maintain knowledge in current evidence-based practices Collect data and make evidenced-based decisions in treatment Supervise students pursuing education in Occupational Therapy Represent OT department in Monarch House by contributing to clinical policies and procedures and other centre-wide visions Here is what you will need to be successful: At least 1 years' experience working with children with ASD Master's Degree in Occupational Therapist (OT) Experience and familiarity with assessment tools (standardized tests, etc.) Knowledge of current research and literature in the Occupational Therapist (OT) field Member of COTBC / COTO / ACOT or eligible to apply Must be legally authorized to work in Canada Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to take initiative Flexibility in scheduling clients What can Monarch House offer you We are proud of our friendly environment, supportive leadership and the knowledgeable team members who make it all possible.
