*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients in family law matters. *Growth Opportunity:* Stratford and area is currently underserviced in the area of family law. Our firm is looking to grow and is seeking lawyers who wish to pursue partnership. *Responsibilities* * Independently manage and maintain a high-volume case load * Draft and respond to correspondence * Prepare pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation, and trial briefs * Telephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts * Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings, depositions, and trials * Administrative practice management tasks including billing and reporting to clients *Qualifications* * Must be called to the Bar in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) * Possess an LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized institution with strong academic credentials * 2-3+ Years Practicing Family Law * Empathetic, and level-headed demeanor to properly handle sensitive family law matters * Possess strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills * Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills * Strong organization and teamwork skills * Ability multi-task and meet tight deadlines * Experience in estate planning and/or real estate law would be an asset Monteith Ritsma Phillips proudly serves Southwestern Ontario and has offices in Stratford, Mitchell, Listowel, and Tavistock.
