    Project Controls Manager

    Overview:
    We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to support heavy industrial capital, maintenance and turnaround work. This role is responsible for overseeing project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced brownfield environments. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, analytical, and adaptable, with strong experience managing project controls for large industrial construction or maintenance projects.
    Must Haves:
    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent related experienceMinimum of 7 years’ experience in project controls within heavy industrial, oil refinery, expansion, or turnaround/shutdown environmentsStrong proficiency with Primavera P6 and advanced scheduling methodologiesProven ability to manage complex brownfield project environments with frequent scope changesDemonstrated expertise in cost control, forecasting, earned value management, and progress reportingStrong understanding of mechanical construction methods, work sequencing, and industrial maintenance workflowsAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors, engineers, project managers, and field supervisorsAbility to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving project prioritiesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities

    Responsibilities:
    Develop, maintain, and oversee detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for all phases of mechanical construction, maintenance, and turnaround activitiesIntegrate subcontractor schedules into a unified master schedule to ensure alignment with project milestones and deliverablesMonitor schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend mitigation strategies to maintain project timelinesLead cost control activities including budget development, forecasting, earned value analysis, and variance reportingTrack project progress, productivity, and performance indicators to support accurate decision-makingPrepare and deliver regular progress updates, dashboards, and analytical reports to project leadership and stakeholdersWork closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and field teams to coordinate work sequencing and address constraintsAnticipate risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to reduce schedule delays and cost impactsMaintain accurate documentation of schedule changes, cost movements, and project controls assumptionsParticipate in project meetings and contribute to strategic planning, execution readiness, and continuous improvement initiativesSupport the development of work breakdown structures, coding structures, and project controls standardsEnsure project controls processes align with industry best practices and contribute to consistent project delivery

    BIM Designer – Mechanical
    Location: Surrey, BC
    Job Summary:
    Our mechanical design/build client is looking for a talented individual to take the lead as a Senior BIM Design/Coordinator on system specific scopes for a hospital project. The ideal candidate will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, where collaboration with project managers, on-site supervisors, and field staff is crucial. The company emphasizes multi-trade coordination, pre-fabrication, and modularization throughout the project cycle, from initial design to final fabrication.

    Must Have:
    Bachelor's Degree, diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or BIM related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience working with BIM in the design, coordination, and oversight of mechanical and plumbing systems.Advanced proficiency in Revit and knowledge of associated BIM and clash detection tools.Ability to review and understand as-builts to ensure accurate representation in BIM models.Solid understanding of industry standards, mechanical systems, and codes.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
    Nice to Have:
    Master’s Degree in a related field or advanced professional certification in BIM.Plumbing, Drainage and Storm design coordination.Experience in training or mentoring junior staff members on BIM best practices.Prior experience specifically in institutional or medical facilities.Proficiency in additional BIM and design software, such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, VicTools, Point Layout and Bluebeam.Practical Knowledge of plumbing code.
    Responsibilities:
    Supervise and provide direction for the design and coordination of Mechanical and Plumbing systems using Revit.Ensure timely and accurate development of models from initial design to as-built conditions.Foster a collaborative environment, coordinating with other trades and partners on high-paced projects.Oversee and validate the creation of detailed 2D and 3D construction documents for installation and pre-fabrication.Ensure existing models are updated and changes are tracked systematically.Lead and represent the team in design/construction coordination and clash detection meetings with other trades.Coordinate with field staff to ensure BIM recommendations are practical and installation friendly.Oversee and inspect installations, provide feedback, and ensure reports are generated promptly.Supervise and manage sub-trades within the BIM environment to ensure project specifications are met.Oversee workload distribution and ensure tasks are prioritized effectively to meet project timelines.Foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging team advancement and benchmarking against industry best practices.Train and mentor, the mechanical BIM team, ensuring continuous development.Provide guidance and support in the estimation process when necessary.
