    Our current needs The Industrialization team's mission is to bring Nord Quantique to an industrialization state ready to produce a Fault Tolerant Quantum Computer, by strengthening every level of the organization toward that goal. Purchasing is a key building block of this effort. Today, purchasing activities are handled by individuals within each team. This consumes precious time that should be spent on R&D and other critical technical tasks. The Buyer will centralize and professionalize the purchasing function, putting in place a well-governed purchasing mechanism and robust supplier management to support Nord Quantique's growth. You will build and operate an efficient, transparent procurement process from technical requests to invoice, making it easy for internal teams to get what they need, on time and at the right cost and quality. Working in close collaboration with all technical team leaders, the candidate will: Act as the primary point of contact for suppliers, ensuring clear, professional and proactive communication. Collect and clarify purchasing needs with internal technical stakeholders across all Nord Quantique teams. Prepare and manage RFQs and RFPs based on team input (lab equipment, electronic components, technical services, etc.). Analyze quotations, compare options and make recommendations based on total cost, quality, lead time and risk. Negotiate terms, prices, delivery schedules and conditions with suppliers. Manage the full purchasing cycle: request approval, purchase order creation, order follow-up, reception coordination and support to invoicing. Track deliveries, manage issues with orders (delays, discrepancies, quality problems) and coordinate resolutions with suppliers and internal teams. Maintain and optimize the supplier database, including performance, terms, risks and key contacts. Contribute to inventory management by coordinating with technical teams to forecast needs and avoid stockouts; propose simple, pragmatic inventory practices adapted to NQ's reality. Create, document and maintain SOPs and governance for purchasing (approval rules, thresholds, documentation requirements, etc.). Monitor and continuously improve purchasing process performance, with a particular focus on reducing purchasing process cycle time. Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant external regulations throughout the purchasing process. Education and experience requirements : Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a similar role. College diploma (DEC) in administration, supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering or a related discipline; a bachelor's degree is an asset. Experience in a high-tech, hardware, industrial or lab environment is a strong asset. Experience working with international suppliers (quotes, logistics, time zones, currencies, basic import/export aspects) is an asset. Experience purchasing electronics, cryogenics components, scientific or lab equipment is an asset. Sought expertise and knowledge: Strong practical experience with RFP/RFQ processes, purchase orders and supplier negotiation (Priority 1). Good understanding of basic inventory management concepts (minimum stock levels, reordering triggers, lead times) and willingness to help shape simple inventory processes (Priority 2). Knowledge of import/export basics and Incoterms, an asset (Priority 3).     Supervision: Directeur des opérations / Chef d'équipe industrialisation Nos besoins actuels La mission de l'équipe d'industrialisation est d'amener Nord Quantique à un niveau d'industrialisation lui permettant de produire un ordinateur quantique tolérant aux fautes, en renforçant chaque niveau de l'organisation en vue d'atteindre cet objectif. Les activités d'approvisionnement constituent un élément clé de cet effort. Aujourd'hui, les activités d'achat sont prises en charge par des membres de chaque équipe, ce qui mobilise un temps précieux qui devrait être consacré à la R&D et à d'autres tâches techniques critiques. L'acheteur ou l'acheteuse aura pour mandat de centraliser et de professionnaliser la fonction d'approvisionnement, en mettant en place des mécanismes d'achat bien gouvernés ainsi qu'une gestion robuste des fournisseurs afin de soutenir la croissance de Nord Quantique. This approach has proven very successful, allowing us to rapidly test different prototypes and develop process flows to unlock state-of-the-art performance, but it will not support the next phase of our roadmap.
    We are now establishing full nanofabrication capability at C2Mi, as one of only two partners engaged with C2Mi and its new Quantum Lab (LINQ). Our objective is ambitious and clear: by 2028, C2Mi must operate as a fully production-ready platform for Nord Quantique, delivering superconducting nanodevices that meet or exceed current 3iT performance, with an emphasis on reliably, repeatably, and at increased throughput.
    To launch this critical initiative, we are seeking an experienced Integration and Nanofabrication Professional to become the first member of Nord Quantique's C2Mi Nanofabrication team. This individual will play a central role in bringing LINQ to operational readiness, beginning with hands-on involvement in tool acceptance, commissioning, and technology transfer from 3iT. Once stable processes of record are established, they will lead efforts to develop, benchmark, and optimize nanofabrication workflows to improve device yield, performance, and reliability, supporting the transition from R&D to early production. Key Responsibilities
    Lead tool acceptance (or validate if not lead), commissioning, and process bring-up for assigned cleanroom equipment, delivering stable baseline recipes with documented characterization. Develop, integrate, benchmark, and optimize nanofabrication processes for superconducting devices, driving yield, performance, and manufacturability, with clear characterization and metrology plans. Act as primary tool owner for multiple mission-critical cleanroom tools, ensuring uptime, PM discipline, process stability, and continuous improvement through data driven monitoring. Support the transfer of fabrication processes developed at 3iT into production at C2Mi using industry standard integration practices. This includes process documentation (PPAP), training, and qualification runs to ensure repeatable execution. Work closely with C2Mi staff to align technical goals, timelines, schedules, and infrastructure requirements. Provide regular progress updates to Nord Quantique's Head of Nanofabrication, proactively identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Contribute to the superconducting circuit fabrication roadmap by identifying performance and yield limiters, capability gaps, prioritized experiments and CapEx requirements needed to enable scalable manufacturing. Success in this role depends not only on technical guidance, but on building trust, fostering open communication, and sustaining a shared sense of purpose both within the team and with C2MI staff. The selected candidate will operate within a highly dynamic environment and will have the opportunity to shape both the technical direction and team structure of a key component of Nord Quantique's roadmap.     Masters or PhD in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantum Information, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing and optimizing cleanroom processes in Nanofabrication facilities. Proven project management experience leading or coordinating nanofabrication efforts in an academic and/or industrial setting. Experience in cross contamination prevention and control. Preferred : Understanding of design concepts and workflow for superconducting circuits. This approach has proven very successful, allowing us to rapidly test different prototypes and develop process flows to unlock state-of-the-art performance, but it will not support the next phase of our roadmap.
    We are now establishing full nanofabrication capability at C2Mi, as one of only two partners engaged with C2Mi and its new Quantum Lab (LINQ). Our objective is ambitious and clear: by 2028, C2Mi must operate as a fully production-ready platform for Nord Quantique, delivering superconducting nanodevices that meet or exceed current 3iT performance, with an emphasis on reliably, repeatably, and at increased throughput.
    To launch this critical initiative, we are seeking an experienced Integration and Nanofabrication Professional to become the first member of Nord Quantique's C2Mi Nanofabrication team. This individual will play a central role in bringing LINQ to operational readiness, beginning with hands-on involvement in tool acceptance, commissioning, and technology transfer from 3iT. Once stable processes of record are established, they will lead efforts to develop, benchmark, and optimize nanofabrication workflows to improve device yield, performance, and reliability, supporting the transition from R&D to early production. Key Responsibilities
    Lead tool acceptance (or validate if not lead), commissioning, and process bring-up for assigned cleanroom equipment, delivering stable baseline recipes with documented characterization. Develop, integrate, benchmark, and optimize nanofabrication processes for superconducting devices, driving yield, performance, and manufacturability, with clear characterization and metrology plans. Act as primary tool owner for multiple mission-critical cleanroom tools, ensuring uptime, PM discipline, process stability, and continuous improvement through data driven monitoring. Support the transfer of fabrication processes developed at 3iT into production at C2Mi using industry standard integration practices. This includes process documentation (PPAP), training, and qualification runs to ensure repeatable execution. Work closely with C2Mi staff to align technical goals, timelines, schedules, and infrastructure requirements. Provide regular progress updates to Nord Quantique's Head of Nanofabrication, proactively identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Contribute to the superconducting circuit fabrication roadmap by identifying performance and yield limiters, capability gaps, prioritized experiments and CapEx requirements needed to enable scalable manufacturing. Excellente maîtrise d'Excel et de la suite Microsoft 365, incluant l'utilisation de listes, de tableaux de bord simples et d'analyses de base. Capacité démontrée à lire, comprendre et interpréter la documentation technique nécessaire à l'appui des décisions d'achat, notamment les fiches techniques et les spécifications. Des connaissances en électronique, en cryogénie, en équipements de laboratoire ou en technologies quantiques constituent un atout, sans être exigées. Niveau avancé en anglais (pour communiquer avec les fournisseurs et employés anglophones) Profil recherché: Personne très organisée et rigoureuse, capable de gérer simultanément de nombreuses demandes, échéances et activités de suivi. Solides compétences en négociation et en influence, permettant d'obtenir des conditions avantageuses tout en maintenant des relations fournisseurs positives et durables. Autonomie et proactivité démontrées : prise en charge complète du processus d'approvisionnement et capacité à faire avancer les dossiers sans attendre d'instructions. Excellentes compétences en communication et approche orientée service envers les équipes internes, dans un environnement de startup. Capacité à établir les priorités dans un environnement de startup en évolution rapide, en conciliant urgence et rigueur. Esprit d'équipe et approche collaborative, avec une aisance à travailler quotidiennement avec des scientifiques, des ingénieurs et des collègues des opérations. Mentalité axée sur l'amélioration continue, avec une recherche naturelle de simplification, de standardisation et d'accélération des processus.
