  • Proposal Coordinator

    Join us as a Proposal Coordinator!
    We are looking for a Proposal Coordinator to manage the proposal development process, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cohesive submissions. This role involves coordinating contributions from various teams, drafting key sections, integrating graphics, and maintaining accurate records of proposal activities. You will play a critical role in strategy meetings, facilitate reviews, and ensure all deliverables align with RFP requirements while maintaining organized systems and databases.
    Duties & Responsibilities: On all proposals, develop a proposal outline document, schedule/facilitate contributions of all parties, ensure RFP compliance, draft standard proposal sections, facilitate reviews, and perform quality control on final document. Participate in proposal strategy and review meetings. Where several disciplines are involved in a submission, coordinate the information of the various disciplines in such a manner that the submission has a uniform and coherent appearance. Write various proposal sections, including executive summaries, project descriptions (qualification summaries), matrices and CVs as required. Where appropriate, conceptualize and integrate graphics to convey proposed solutions. Assist with managing, monitoring and maintaining the proposal database, files, and systems through appropriate information management systems. Keep accurate records on proposals in progress, completed, wins, losses, etc.
    What we're looking for: Strong communication and technical writing skills, and an aptitude for understanding technical terminology Attention to detail, coupled with the ability to proofread and edit material, and identify errors and omissions Minimum of 3 years of relevant proposal development experience, preferably with BC infrastructure projects or a similar environment Bachelor's degree or diploma from recognized post-secondary institution in language, communications, marketing, business or engineering, or equivalent experience Knowledge of industrial construction RFP and EOI processes including bonding, safety, quality control, project controls, addenda, RFI's, contract types and commercial requirements would be an asset Flexibility to work overtime to meet proposal deadlines when required Ability to read industrial construction drawings and specifications is an asset Previous experience in consulting, engineering or legal and/or major project joint venture experience are desirable Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite tools such as Word; Adobe Acrobat and InDesign are an asset
    Compensation
    The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $65,000-85,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and experience.   • Equipment Director

Possible for over 65 years!As NorLand’s Equipment Director, you will lead our equipment operations, facilities, processes, data and governance to deliver the highest return on assets deployed. You will oversee procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance for the company’s equipment and mobile assets, and will be accountable for readying the Equipment Division for the implementation of an integrated ERP system, and providing analysis and governance to help NorLand make the best business decisions in alignment with our strategic objectives.Duties and Responsibilities:Team ManagementLead a team of direct and indirect reports responsible for equipment & fleet management, mechanics/ maintenance, equipment purchasing, shop stores/inventory, equipment yard and fleet schedules.Develop strategies to strengthen the team by assessing capabilities, proactively recruiting and developing talent for the future.Drive safety culture and ensure the highest safety, quality, and efficiency standards are maintained.Equipment ManagementManage the equipment procurement processes, including preparation of annual capital budgets and reports, return on capital analysis, buy vs. lease, cost tracking, purchasing.Analyze life cycle and utilization rates and make recommendations on replacement, addition and/or divestiture of assets as needed.Analyze all equipment cost metrics continuously to ensure effective utilization and maintenance practices.Ensure effective equipment maintenance by developing and implementing comprehensive preventative and predictive equipment repair programs including developing KPIs to track and regulate equipment utilization, repair costs and spare parts inventories.Work with the construction teams to provide timely, relevant and accurate data being captured by the NextGen equipment fleets to improve productivity and project management decision making in real time.Oversee the management of records, licenses, inspections, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools.Manage effective and efficient yard operations.Process ImprovementFurther develop the shift to an integrated technology driven environment for tracking and assessing equipment use and condition, identifying location, gathering operational analytics, and capturing associate costs.Implement technology enhancements to optimize equipment utilization and effectiveness.Work closely with leadership to promote the use of more energy efficient equipment and processes, and provide practical efficiency solutions.Partner with equipment suppliers to drive leading edge approaches in equipment maintenance. Leverage equipment suppliers' capabilities to enhance the maintenance tools and processes.Qualifications:Ten or more years of experience in a construction environment, preferably in equipment management.Five or more years of experience in leading teams.Ability to analyze large amounts of data, and compile relevant information used in making qualitative and quantitative business decisions.Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.Experience managing budgets and performing financial analysis.Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance.Proven experience in developing and deploying best in class processes and introducing technology solutions in a construction environment.Experience in team building, coaching and succession planning.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under pressure of deadlines.Proficient computer skills, including use of MS Office products, and familiarity with ERP systems.The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $170,000 - $200,000 per annum.   • Project Health & Safety Manager

Possible. for over 65 years!We are looking for a new team member for the position of Project Health & Safety Manager, for the BEL Contracting division at NorLand Limited. In this position you will work closely with the Infrastructure Health and Safety team, Office and Field Management and site crews to support all areas of health and safety.Key Accountabilities:Reporting to the Project Construction Manager and NorLand Infrastructure Health & Safety Manager, the Project Health & Safety Manager’s fundamental role is to uphold NorLand Limited’s stringent safety standards by meticulously monitoring the site-specific safety plan and ensuring full compliance. Beyond compliance, the Project Health & Safety Manager will proactively address any safety concerns that arise and adeptly implement solutions that align with NorLand Limited’s commitment to safety.Duties and Responsibilities:Stay abreast of all pertinent occupational health and safety regulations, maintaining up-to-date OHS certifications.Monitor and enhance health & safety standards by tracking issues, maintaining records of incidents, and suggesting improvements.Organize, Schedule and Conduct orientations, training, and safety coordination for workers, and subcontractors.Facilitate and participate in site inspections and implement corrective actions, as required.Develop site specific safety procedures, job hazard assessments and provide guidance on tool and equipment usage.Analyze and identify leading and lagging indicators. Report and present safety statistics to Management.Lead emergency response, investigate incidents, and collaborate on safety record management.Ensure that all necessary safety equipment and first aid resources are consistently available on-site to maintain a safe working environment.Review subcontractor documentation for compliance, ensuring adherence to safety standards.Actively participate in Project meetings, providing valuable insights from a safety standpoint.Engage in and contribute to the creation of content for toolbox talks, fostering a culture of safety awareness among workers.Organize monthly safety meetings to address overarching safety concerns and disseminate important safety information.Organize and facilitate monthly JHSC meetings.Ensure compliance with NorLand’s Injury Management process, follow up with injured workers when required. Provide direction, support and resource to all site managers, and supervisors.Qualifications/Experience:Completion of a University or College Degree, or equivalent experience, in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.5+ years related experience in a safety position within the construction industry.Mandatory Occupational First Aid Level 2 or 3 certification.Experience as a supervisor or manager is considered an asset.Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of accident prevention and cause analysis. Excellent leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers.Exceptional abilities in presenting and communicating effectively, both verbal and written. .Valid and clean BC Driver’s License.This is an onsite position.The typical salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 annually.
