  • Mine Engineer

    The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Senior Underground Mine Engineer to join our Client's Team on site in northern Ontario. The Senior Underground Mine Engineer will perform his/her duties as a member of the Engineering Department and collaborate with other departments of the division.
    The Senior Underground Mine Engineer is responsible for the design, planning and execution of engineering services for the underground project. They will handle aspects of short-range and mid-range planning, mine design, ventilation, mine services, construction, and other production-related projects. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting our Gold Mining Client's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
    Responsibilities: Create weekly and monthly/3month mine plans in collaboration with Underground mine operations, Development Contractor and other stakeholders; Assist the Long-Range Planning by ensuring the short and mid-range planning are aligned with the long-range plan; Lead design review meetings for lateral development and general level design; Using operational parameters produce drill pattern designs Align weekly priorities with the Drill and Blast Technicians and the Underground Surveyors; Collaborate with the Geology Department for stockpile management; Verify and approve lateral development, ventilation, mine services and construction layouts; Act as relief coverage for Mine Technicians, performing field duties such as surveying, ventilation, ground support and mine services work, as required; Produce various KPI reports on project development; Promote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in safety and productivity; Other tasks as required.
    Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering; 8+ years of experience in underground mine engineering/operations; Professional designation (P.Eng.) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design/planning software (Deswik an asset); Experience working in a multicultural environment; Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude; Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Must be able to work independently and within a team structure; Works well in fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively prioritize job duties

    Supervising the team who performs safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on a range of traditional and advanced mining equipment. We are seeking an individual who can ensure progressive, sustainable improvements within the department.
    The Requirements
    Possess an underground common core for first/front line supervisors. Must have 5+years' experience supervising a team of heavy-duty mechanics in an underground mining environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, engineers, operators, and management
    Schedule: 5/5/4 with rotating day and night shifts
    Salary range: $60-$75

  • Senior Mine Engineer

    The Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior Mine Engineer to join our Client's team on a full time permanent basis. Be a part of the initial team to grow and develop a new underground mine project that is rapidly becoming regionally significant within the iconic Red Lake Gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.
    Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Mine Engineer will be responsible for supporting the safe production of short- and medium-term mining plans and ensuring designs are mineable and comply to best practices and all relevant legislation.
    Responsibilities will include: Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines Support the production of short and medium-term mining plans. Create templates and ensure design compliance from the engineering team. Review and prepare development designs in line with long and short-term mining schedule. Update the intermediate mine schedule to align with current mine priorities Complete month and year end reconciliation reports Update and create weekly, monthly, and planning reports Design longhole production layouts including, but not limited to, cable bolt layouts, raise layouts, and production drilling layouts. Develop and present the monthly and yearly mine plan to the operations team. Liaise with various departments to ensure the mine plan is viable and in compliance with all required standards, including safety, environmental and legislative. Communicate with Operations to ensure all plans are executed to design. Mentor and train junior engineering team members. Other duties as assigned.
    Skills and Experience: A tertiary degree in mining engineering or technologist or related discipline. 5 to 10 years’ experience in an underground mining operation. Proven ability in safe work practices. Solid knowledge of underground mine design, as well as the technical processes related to planning and scheduling, including mine ventilation, ground control, and mine infrastructure. Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, Deswik.CAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in, Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, and Deswik.UGDB, considered an asset. Ability to work independently. Accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent proven team player approach to work. Valid driver’s license. The work schedule will be 2 weeks on, and 2 weeks off
